The late, great 'racer. Damn shame they threw in the towel when they did. Luckily for us, we had the opportunity to work with the Lads (and Nicola) on these two fine releases. "Pain, Plunder, and Personal Loss" captured Boyracer at their cheeky best. The phone message from Heavenly's own Ameila Fletcher is worth the price alone. Oh the songs? Well, it's no-fi pop at it's best. Most band's couldn't pull it off, but the sheer greatness of the songs shines through on every track.
The "Present Tense" single marked the last of the Boyracer releases. It happens to be a co-release with the fantastic 555 Recordings of Leeds label that Stewart and Nicola run. It's great - plain and simple. I hand-screened the covers, they had the vinyl pressed at that fab pressing plant in the Czech Republic.
