FM3
BUDDHA MACHINE
$22.99

A unique 'soundbox' from China, which is causing senstation worldwide. A totally dazzling item which causes jaw-dropping delight everywhere - Alan Bishop bought twenty-four of these on sight, Brian Eno bought eight (how's that for apocalyptical math?). FM3 are a duo of Christiaan Virant and Chinese keyboardist and computer musician Zhang Jian - based in Beijing. The Buddha Machine is a hardware loop player, built kind of like a little AM radio (available in 6 different colors, shipped randomly), but without all the nonsense - total genius from out of nowhere.
Comes with 2 x AA batteries. "The Buddha Machine is a small soundbox made in China which comes with an integrated speaker, a volume control, mini jack-out and a switch to choose between nine different loops which are stored on a small chip and can be directly played by this mini soundsystem."

Hanido Sounds
$19.99

A fine document of pure Japanese sonic nihilism and fresh, deconstructed electronic frequencies. Delving into the realm of deep listening, transported by way of analog synthesizers, FAMILY BATTLE SNAKE (aka BILL KOULIGAS of SUDDEN INFANT) weaves an electronic web that cocoons the listener in warm cascading frequencies, calling to mind classic electronic composers such as Charles Dodge, Eliane Radigue and even a hint of NWW. ASTRO (aka HIROSHI HASEGAWA of the defunct C.C.C.C.) melds waves of squealing feedback and oscillating waveforms with biting distortion. Enveloped by haywire electronics and burbling loops and skree, Astro has constructed an impressive piece of modern electronic music of devastating magnitude. Limited edition of 330 hand-numbered copies, pressed on 140-gram vinyl, jacket housed in a two-tone silkscreened PVC sleeve with interweaving geometric designs

Music Fellowship
$23.99

The Monolith series combines two like-minded artists on the same one-sided, reverse-cut LP by hard-panning one recording to the right and the other recording to the left. By adjusting the panning controls on his or her turntable, the listener is free to control the degree to which the two recordings melt into one. Each edition in the series is limited to a one-time pressing of 500 picture disc LPs featuring a Monolith inspired painting by Ned Clayton and includes a CD with stereo mixes.

Monolith: Jupiter is realized by two fre(e/ak)-jazz duos: Traum and Bark Haze. On the right is Bark Haze, the duo of Gown (Andrew MacGregor) and Thurston Moore. Bark Haze explores the interplay between two unbridled electric guitars. This recording focuses on restraint: an intimate melding of the minds through careful abuse of the strings. On the left is Traum, in this recording the duo of Hell Hall (Graveyards) and Zac Davis (Lambsbread). The project is Hall's continuation of Graveyards' from the gutter ode to jazz's influence on noise. This recording combines Hall's creative and controlled drumwork and percussion with Davis' schizophrenic/ADHD guitar hallucinations. The combination of the two recordings is either interstellar kismet or pure trash or at least interstellar trash.

Jnana
$19.99

white vinyl.
Michael Cashmore (currently of Current 93/ex-Nature & Organization)
follows up his well received debut CD from 2006 (Sleep England) with
a brand new 5 track mini album. In stark contrast to the entirely
instrumental album, The Snow Abides mixes fully orchestrated music
composed by Mr. Cashmore with lyrics and texts specially written by
David Tibet and sung by Antony Hegarty of Antony & The Johnsons. The
results are as lush, celebratory and melancholy as you could hope for.

Cave
Butthash

Trensmat
$9.99

full length studio album on CD/LP available via Important
Cave are a dual drummer led modern psyche outfit from Chicago. They take single riffs and hammer them into a sort of kraut flecked hypnorock with all sorts of strange twists and turns, bizarre arrangements, baffling breakdowns resulting in unique & amazing jams.
'Butthash' explores a damaged and delirious path - like garage rock raised on Magma and Neu/Faust. The guitars crunchy and thick, occasionally opening up into wailing psychrock blowouts, the drums distorted but grooving. Like an amphetamine fueled Circle via the basement, the sound a sweat soaked instrumental groove.
Flip over for 'Machines & Muscles', a more lush & epic approach, like a neanderthal krautrock. Reminiscent of Peng-era Stereolab this builds & builds with awesome grinding space rock riffage via warbly synth & flurries of percussive splatter. Entrancing, a heaving, pulsing, throbbing mass, the sound magnetic and irresistible.
The additional multimedia CD features the two 7" tracks along with two other equally rocking tracks and an exclusive and amazing video for Butthash.
Limited edition package of numbered green vinyl 7" and CD. In full colour wraparound picture sleeve.

(Coil) Grief Featuring Jhonn Balance
Divine Frequency
$17.99
a memorial and a tribute to the art, life, and passing of a truly gifted artist and silver tongued poet, Divine Frequency Records would like to present 'Grief,' a limited 7" picture disc featuring the voice of Jhonn Balance. This release presents a solemn pair of hard to find and out of print tracks featuring Jhonn Balance as guest vocalist. Besides his work as Coil, Balance was an avid collaborator and his voice was an infrequent but always noteworthy addition to the recordings of other artists. It was this spirit of experimentation that was the inspiration for the two tracks on this release.

Tovinator
$19.99

One-sided release. "YES!!! Finally!! Angus and Bon Scott would def label this knockout collab as grade A T-N-T!!! Here's how it went down: The Machines were kicking it Brooklyn style last January for some jam time with Burning Sess Core, and the Tovinator had a solo slot in Glasslands on Super Bowl Sunday. Seeing how we both were worked up from the Pitts power plays and amazing Puck and Queen B quality time, Thurston added fuel to the fire and suggested that Conrad hit the stage with Tovah. Seeing how Tony only had his pajamas and an rusty old auto harp in tow, the aural jam scape was destined to be stripped down and tense. So here are the results!! Tovah on tin can 'voice,' tapes, and the sheet metal/spring 'mailbox' sculpture and Tony on unprocessed auto harp. No drone sound in sight, just a clanging, echoed, tangled sharp barbed nasty JAM. Super duper, like nothing else in either discography. Could be seen as a celebration in real time to the STEELERS, with STEEL and STRINGS. Amazing!!!! Edition of 200 in super weird covers, hand numbered." -- John Olson

Eric Copeland
Hermaphrodite

$29.99

Tiny pressing. Long gone.
As part of the Brooklyn-based trio Black Dice, Eric Copeland had a
significant hand in the early millennial union of experimental noise and
psychedelic sensibilities. HERMAPHRODITE continues this unique vision
with a collection of loopy and adventurous headphone candy that combines
Brian Eno's mid-'70s sonic gymnastics with Animal Collective's
non-traditional ideas of structure--fittingly, the album was released on
the Collective's Paw Tracks label. While there is very little that
indicates that this is structured music at all, HERMAPHRODITE is a
compelling listen with enough beauty, humor, and musicality to hook
the faint of heart. Beautiful, mysterious stuff

Deep Listening Band
Then & Now/Now & Then
asd
Taiga
$39.99

Immaculately packaged 200 gram green vinyl by the always incredible Taiga Records.

First it was the name of an album that came out about 20
years ago and made new music history. Deep Listening. Then
it became the name of the band that recorded that album.
Then it became the name of a practice, an approach to art,
improvisation, exploration and, well, living, that drove that
band, a band of crazies led by Pauline Oliveros, to lower
themselves into a hugeunderground concrete cistern in the
state of Washington” (David Felton, 2008). Here, 20 years
later, Oliveros, Stuart Dempster and David Gamper celebrate
an anniversary of improvisation, innovation and commitment
with their first ever vinyl release.
This vinyl-only document contains four sidelong tracks, one
reissued and three previously unreleased. “Cannery Row”
was originally available on the Troglodyte’s Delight album and
captures the band in Tarpaper Cave, which Dempster recalls
as “an old limestone quarry near Rosendale, New York that
had lovely dripping water sounds and Valhalla-like mists.”
The previously unreleased tracks were gathered from three
separate live performances at the Sounds Like Now Festival,
Sound Exchange American Composers Forum, and Engine27,
a 16-channel installation of special speakers.
The audio was mastered for vinyl by James Plotkin, cut direct
to metal and pressed on 200g-virgin-vinyl in a limited edition
of 500. The records come packaged in a custom designed
slipcover and a jacket with doublewide spines. The slipcover
features two exquisite photographs and is dual-finished with a
gloss front and matte back. The jacket is printed on a cardboard
brown stock with the pocket flooded green and features three
rich essays including: an introduction by Felton, a short history
by Dempster and information about the Expanded Instrument
System (EIS) from Oliveros.

Dendoshi
Dendoshi 2
asd
Alga Marghen
$29.99

Dendoshi is Keith Connolly (No Neck Blues Band), Raymond Dijkstra (Asra), Dave Nuss (No Neck Blues Band) and Timo Van Luyk (Af Ursin, In Camera). Dendoshi: 'he who comes to propagate the ceremony' or 'missionary' (Japanese). There had actually been a previous incarnation of Dendoshi (hence Dendoshi 2), which was a large group performance in New York which concentrated on elucidating the memories of a dead tree which had been re-contextualized as a sculptural exhibit. Some thematic reference: The name 'Dendoshi' originates from the work of Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa, whose films also inspired the content of the first performance. When the opportunity presented itself for Connolly, Dijkstra, Nuss and Van Luyk to come together to make a session, it was the perfect opportunity to realize Dendoshi not as a one-off performance on a theme, but as a recurring ritual in development. The resulting music widened the conceptual reflection of the band, bringing to mind the history and ideas of Franz Mesmer. Mesmer, the 18th century Austrian spiritualist healer, was among the first to put forth the theory of what he termed 'animal magnetism,' regarding a universal fluid which permeates all matter and can be influenced by the will, not dissimilar to some of Eliphas Levi's concepts. What seemed to set Mesmer apart was an attention to mood and atmosphere, an aesthetic component to what were scientifically quite dubious theories, which lent his work an aura of portent -- thus the parallel with the music captured as Dendoshi 2. Reflecting the qualities that all four musical sensibilities had in common, the album is a statement upon the ephemeral nature of atmosphere and will, and the relation of reverie to oblivion as opposed to ecstasy. The symbol, or mark on the front cover created by Connolly came intuitively and without revision. Its applied function is that of distinction rather than that of protection or as a seal. It was first applied to the photograph by Clarence H. White form 1904, where the first resonant depiction or personification of reverie and oblivion as applied to Dendoshi was found. By applying the mark, Connolly is ceremonializing the image, thus rendering it distinct from its original form, not as an appropriation, but as a recognition. The other images followed, and each of them were recognized instantly without having to search. The last was Vermeer's image from Van Luyk's basement, and upon receiving this, the series of 4 inserts was complete. There is a trace of fear and a sensation of suspended time in these images which suits the music very well. Edition limited to 300 copies with a gold cover."
