Welcome to Intransitive! We are a publisher of adventurous music and sound art, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts (in the greater Boston area) since 1998. Do not expect anything here that is easy to describe; Intransitive does not do improv, noise, or anything that fits too neatly into a box. The label is solely operated by Howard Stelzer, a stubborn and opinionated jerk who does whatever he likes. Among other things, Stelzer enjoys reading, collecting records, and writing about himself in the third person.

Intransitive occasionally hosts performances of electronic and improvised music in Cambridge and Boston.
