Brighter Now (Legendary Pink Dots)

The first official album by the Legendary Pink Dots was released in 1982 and
later reissued by the Belgian label Play It Again Sam on the Pink Dots' own
label Terminal Kaleidoscope. Up to this point, all LPD tracks had only been
issued on self-released cassettes available via mail order. The quality of
the output on Brighter Now is much stronger than most of the rudimentary
experiments on the early cassettes, but all in all the album is still
amateurish and innocently bizarre, much of it played on Casio pre-sets.
"City Ghosts" and "Hanging Gardens" are the standout tracks, as they hint at
the hypnotic, otherworldly territory which would soon encompass the band.
