Faces in the Fire (Legendary Pink Dots)

The first Pink Dots record produced directly for PIAS was released in 1984
and contains six tracks which show the band in a period of transition. The
arrangements are much more intricate than before, and Ka-Spel begins to use
his voice almost to the point of exaggeration. Three of the tracks
("Blasto," "Sleeso," and "Kitto") are odd, quirky takes on commercial
advertisements which, paired with the television image on the cover,
demonstrate a growing concern for common themes and concepts running over
the course of an album. The strongest, most introspective (and curiously
sexual) track is the dark, bleepy "Love In a Plain Brown Envelope."
