Stormy Records.
We've been open now 12 years. Started in the summer of 1999. We love what we do – and it shows.

At this point in time we are mainly a used record shop – with a twist. We do carry a large number of experimental releases – ambient music, noise records, avant jazz. We carry almost full catalogs of labels such as the Numero Group, Mississippi Records, Sublime Frequencies. We have psychedelic pop, Japanese acid freakout, modern composers, weird 60s soundtracks. And a full selection of used lps and 45s – rock, pop, soul, gospel, jazz, exotica, juke box 45s, a great selection of Motown vinyl.

Occasionally we have live performances here in the shop – usually solo artists or very small combos – people like MV & EE, Jack Rose, Phil Elverum, Tatsuya Nakatani.

We love music. We work our rear ends off to make sure our selection is good and our customers are happy. This is a community – a music community. We have discussions here about nerdy record geek stuff – that is what makes the world go round for us.

We buy, sell, and trade used vinyl. As of 3-14-11, the buyer is normally here Tues Wed and Fri from 11am to 4 pm. Thurs and Sat from 12 to 6. you should ALWAYS call first. You know, we get busy, we have family events, we go to concerts.....sometimes we can't be here when we usually are.

We do not buy Classical, Big Band, Easy Listening, or Showtunes. We're willing to look at just about anything else.

We send out a weekly email update with new items, and cool used lps. If you'd like to be added to the email list, send us a note and we'll put you on. If you are out of town you can still be on the list – we offer mail order to anywhere in the world.

Our goal at Stormy Records is to help you find music that is worth your time. Stop by and see us – you'll see why we've been open for 12 years and see how apparent it is that we love music.
