Solypsis is/was the primary alias used by James Miller
(Chicago resident/Arizona native) during the period of
1998-2008. Eschewing proper recording techniques, rebuking the use of quality hardware and showing a general disdain for learning how to use software, Solypsis somehow went on to carve a small niche in the electronic music world. While layering tinnitus-inducing feedback onto hamfisted beats, he has churned out well over 1000 songs and appeared on dozens of compilations on a plethora of labels. A simple google search will produce hours of free music to download for interested parties.
James has been known to dabble in a wide variety of electronic sounds, both irritating and relatively user-friendly under a variety of pseudonyms.
Solypsis is repulsed by the general elitism inherent in electronic music and feels that all artists are equal.
In 2006 Solypsis founded the Digital Vomit label after abandoning the short-lived Couch Fort Records.
