ALVARIUS B. Malarial Dream LP
Alan Bishop's solo persona appears again from his now 15-year-old home of Cairo where it was recorded in and around many other projects over the past few years. And unlike his more recent singer/songwriter material, Malarial Dream drifts closer to latter day Sun City Girls (Mister Lonely/Funeral Mariachi) amidst a melodic Middle Eastern and beyond psych-warped folk setting. Mostly instrumental and, except for two obscure covers, original compositions that feature a cast of extraordinary players: Adham Zidan, Aya Hemeda, Cherif El Masri, and Morgan Mikkelsen (The Invisible Hands), Maurice Louca and Sam Shalabi (The Dwarfs of East Agouza), Amelie Legrand, Asher Gamedze, Eyvind Kang, Hana Al Bayaty, Huda Asfour, and Sammy Sayed. LP Limited to 500 copies. Produced by Alvarius B. and Adham Zidan.

ANDY, HORACE Get Wise LP
2026 restock. "With his honeyed falsetto, Horace Andy has long been considered one of roots reggae's most inimitable voices. His signature tune, 'Skylarking,' is one of a handful of songs that can be instantly recognized by even the most casual of reggae fans. Making his debut with producer and mentor Phil Pratt at the age of sixteen, Andy's expressive vocal style is immediately distinctive, bearing the soulful influence of American artists Otis Redding and Smokey Robinson as well as fellow countryman Alton Ellis. 1975's Get Wise collects a series of singles produced by Pratt including versions of hits 'Money, Money' ('Root Of All Evil') and 'Zion Gate' ('I Don't Want To Be Outside'). Recorded between 1972 and 1974, these sides were captured at legendary studios Channel One, Black Ark, Dynamic Sound and Randy's Studio 17 with house engineers Ernest Hoo Kim, Lee Perry, Carlton Lee and Errol Thompson at the helm. Originally released on Pratt's Sunshot label, the album doubles as a showcase for The Soul Syndicate Band, a typically ad-hoc session group which featured Sly & Robbie, Aston 'Family Man' Barrett and Earl 'Chinna' Smith, among others. Get Wise delivers ten tracks of Andy's finest material and should be in the collection of any aficionado of the classic '70s Kingston sound. Liner notes by JR Gonne."

MANGIONE, GAP Diana In The Autumn Wind LP
Gap Mangione's monumentally influential Diana In The Autumn Wind. They said it could never be done. And with good reason. Be With has spent the past 12 years trying to license this legendary 1968 recording from Gap and, after much work, it's finally here. Remarkably, this is the first ever vinyl reissue of Gap Mangione's Diana In The Autumn Wind, produced with the full and extensive participation of Gap. An exceedingly rare album, it's been coveted by funk, soul, jazz and hip-hop sample fiends for decades. It's unarguably the most sought-after album for J Dilla/Madlib sample collectors. It has also been brilliantly sampled by A Tribe Called Quest, Large Professor, Ghostface Killah, Kendrick Lamar, and Talib Kweli. But this record is so much more than a sample-spotters curio. It's solid gold throughout. Bursting with killer funky-jazz grooves and tracks adorned with warm electric piano, the release is notable for featuring some extremely significant players at the very outset of their careers; Tony Levin, at 21, whose superb playing on both acoustic and electric bass was the harmonic mainstay of the trio and Steve Gadd, at 23, one of the greatest drummers of his generation. Gap's story is told in his words alongside rare photos across a sumptuously designed two-page insert and, to augment this deluxe edition further, it's all wrapped up in a beautiful, no-expense-spared luxury tip-on sleeve, as per the original hens-teeth release. The tracks are short but complex, with that extraordinary rhythm section backing the beautiful piano, organ and electric piano work of Gap. It's a stunning blend of the vibrant, driving music of the Gap Mangione Trio coupled with the sensitive composition and superb orchestration of Gap's legendary brother, Chuck Mangione, who helmed an amalgam of seemingly disparate elements -- rock, big band jazz, solo improvisation and "classical" music -- into a spectacularly cohesive whole that has aged wonderfully well. As Gap himself notes in the liners, "with this group I was able to explore and add new and exciting elements from rock, Brazilian and then-current pop music." Under the watchful eye -- and extremely attentive ears -- of Gap Mangione himself, the audio for Diana In The Autumn Wind has been carefully remastered by Be With regular Simon Francis, with a few much-needed tweaks here and there, according to the artist's wishes. At the prestigious Abbey Road Studios, Cicely Balston's expert skills have made sure nothing is lost in the cut whilst the records have been pressed to the highest possible standard at the always stellar Record Industry in Holland.

ANTUNES, LUCIE 360 LP
The soundtrack features music from the show 360, choreographed by Mehdi Kerkouche. In 360, French choreographer Mehdi Kerkouche breaks away from traditional choreographic codes to harness the immersive energy of a live concert, heightened by Lucie Antunes' electronic score and set within Emmanuelle Favre's grand scenography. Standing all around a circular stage, the audience becomes an integral part of the experience. Through a series of vibrant tableaux, eight dancers deliver a striking portrait of contemporary youth, in search of a voice and representation. Conceived as a collective driving force, the original soundtrack composed by Lucie Antunes plays a central role in the 360 experience. At the crossroads of electronic music, live energy and percussive writing, the score envelops the space, interacts with the dancers' bodies and propels movement into a continuous dynamic. More than an accompaniment, it acts as a unifying force, creating a vibrant tension between pulses, textures and silences, and transforming listening into a sensory and celebratory experience.

SOCIETE ETRANGE Heat LP
LP version. With Heat, Soci?t? ?trange extends its work around repetition, groove and cyclic structures, shaping an instrumental music that is both hypnotic and enveloping. Without any radical shift, the Lyon-based trio subtly moves towards more melodic and more cinematic forms, revealing warmer, more textured and sometimes more luminous atmospheres. Formed by Antoine Bellini (electronics), Romain Hervault (bass) and Jonathan Grandcollot (drums), Soci?t? ?trange builds here a more diffuse trance, driven by generally slower tempos than on Chance (BJR 075CD, 2022). Organic drums interact with drum machines and layers of synthesizers, while the bass carries both pulse and melodic lines. The music breathes more, leaving space for silences and micro-variations, and unfolds as an immersive listening experience. With Heat, the band explores a strange form of instrumental pop, without formats or choruses, nourished by an imaginary close to soundtracks and narrative electronic music. A warm and hypnotic album, where repetition becomes texture, tension turns into atmosphere, and each track draws its own sonic landscape.

HARMONIOUS THELONIOUS Grumpy Pieces CD
With Grumpy Pieces, D?sseldorf-based musician Stefan Schwander, aka Harmonious Thelonious, returns with an album that gathers many of the elements that have defined the project over the years -- while simultaneously pushing them apart. The record feels like a tightening of earlier ideas: interlocking melodies, hypnotic patterns, a sustained focus on rhythm and texture, paired with a sound that is rougher, drier and more immediate than before."Musically, Grumpy Pieces draws from familiar territory within the Harmonious Thelonious universe: Pan-African and Middle Eastern rhythmic concepts, repetitive minimal structures, stripped-down electronics and noise used as a structural force. Yet everything here feels less fixed, more unstable, at times close to falling apart. Melodies grind against rugged bass foundations; dry snare hits cut sharply through the mix. The groove remains central, but now carries a nervous, fractured quality -- noticeably more restless than one might expect from a project active for nearly eighteen years. The title Grumpy Pieces is more than a wry aside. The album reflects a present shaped by political and social tension. Anger, uncertainty and a muted sense of despair run through the tracks, without the music ever becoming literal or lapsing into overt commentary. Instead, it operates through friction: between dancefloor momentum and disruption, immediacy and resistance. While the A-side opens in a comparatively direct and driving manner with 'And You May Find Yourself,' the B-side increasingly embraces disintegration as a guiding principle, culminating in the aptly titled closing track 'Dissolving.' The album was once again produced in Schwander's home base of D?sseldorf, using a working method rooted firmly in the moment. The tracks were not arranged on a screen, but developed intuitively, recorded, abandoned and reshaped. This approach also connects directly to the live practice of Harmonious Thelonious: music understood as a repetitive state, a trance-like space that insists rather than narrates. Limitation, intuition and spontaneity are not stylistic gestures here, but essential conditions of the music itself. Influences from everyday listening -- from Brazilian music and electronic records to film soundtracks -- remain deliberately submerged, fully absorbed into a self-contained sonic world. Grumpy Pieces is not a break, but a sharpening. An album that further condenses and roughens the unmistakable sound of Harmonious Thelonious, offering an uneasy yet physical soundtrack to the current social climate. Dance music with teeth." --Daniel Jahn, 2026

CHAT PILE/HAYDEN PEDIGO In The Earth Again LP
2026 restock; LP version. A collaboration forged in the heart of the American Midwest, In The Earth Again unites Oklahoma City's noise rock institution Chat Pile with Texas/Oklahoma's visionary guitarist and composer Hayden Pedigo. What began as a casual split release idea spiraled into a thirty-six-minute album that threads their contrasting sensibilities into something entirely new. Pedigo's panoramic, primitive guitar, meets Chat Pile's industrial decay, creating a record that explores unknown emotional registers and atmospheric depth for both, In The Earth Again sounds like a post-apocalyptic transmission from rural nowhere. Instead of making concessions, the five artists work as a single unit, and each decision is made in support of the greater vision. The result is both intimate and expansive, a tribute to the modern wasteland. Cover art by Malcom Byers.

DIENNE Conducturis LP
Dienne creates hazy pieces of music full of the melancholy of remembrance and loss combining analog instruments with reverb-drenched vocals and shimmers of processed electronic sources. Her new album Conducturis emerges as a sensory exploration of the human spirit and the boundless horizons of artificial intelligence. "Abundant in beauty and rich in disturbances" serves as the guiding principle for Belgian composer, Dienne, as she builds songs and soundscapes that portray the images and stories that play behind her eyes. Combining analog instruments like the oboe, the piano, and the flute with reverb-drenched vocals and shimmers of processed electronic sources, she creates hazy pieces of music full of the melancholy of remembrance and loss. Her debut album Addio (OP 067LP, 2022) was released on Nicol?s Jaar's Other People imprint. Addio is a 32-minute study on loss and mourning. Following the death of her grandmother due to Covid-19, and unable to say a proper goodbye due to travel restrictions, Dienne set out to give her "Addio" through musical form. The result is a deeply intimate work that channels classical instrumentation through foggy electronic experimentation. Her second album, Conducturis, accompanies an immersive film installation delving into speculative fiction, conceptualized by Mira Sanders and C?dric No?l. Conducturis is an immersive film installation project that delves into the realms of speculative fiction, employing the cinematic language of the road movie to envision the ramifications of constructing an artificial brain within the Swiss landscape. Following their encounters with key figures in the Human Brain Project during an art research expedition in Geneva from 2019 to 2020, conceptualized by C?dric No?l and Mira Sanders, they stumbled upon a remarkable discovery: a hidden fiber-optic cable linking Geneva to Lugano. Anchored at both ends by the Human Brain Project in Geneva and the CSCS (Centre Suisse de Calcul Scientifique) in Lugano, this conduit facilitated the transmission of intricate brain simulations from the imposing computational hub in Lugano to Geneva via a "superconductor" cable. Guided by the principle of being "abundant in beauty and rich in disturbances", Dienne embarks on a sonic exploration of the Swiss landscape, translating its ethereal beauty and technological wonders into evocative musical compositions. Printed inner sleeve; includes 8p art booklet.

TRISTANNE Sexy Tears LP
Sexy Tears is a bold departure from Tristanne's (fka Tristan) critically acclaimed pop-jazz debut Wellif and lets you veer into uncharted territory, from the first tone, the bittersweet and haunting violin tones fade in on opener "Steady Mouth." In a split second, Tristanne lets you vanish in a dazzling matrix deep down a rabbit hole, a place where Piero Umiliani's '70s sleazy giallo era sensually resonates with Oneothrix Point Never goldwave frequencies. With a whisper of panting tension, her soothing voice and sonic subliminal temptation she unravels her own lush love secret domain, unlocking deeply hidden lost emotions and mutated feelings. While mellifluous harp chords in "If Only" set a scene for a tantalizing new world utopia the percussive clutter of "Whordus" syncopes and mutate this future dream with a chiastic slide into a videodrome for a jilted generation. With the help from her musician friends Elisabeth Klinck (violin), Indr Jurgeleviit (kankl?s), Kaat Vanstralen (flute) and Gert Malfliet (drums), Tristanne's Sexy Tears will hit you straight in the heart, like a modern-day Cupido with a well-aimed dazzling sonic arrow. WHITE FENCE Orange LP
"Like a lightning strike that travels through time, White Fence are all of a sudden cracking in the hear-view mirror again. Orange hits like, visceral. Guitars sound and like a shower spray forth. Resolutely picked. Cold and soothing. Swivelin' thru the jagged, jittery pop sounds of the '60s-'00s, the sharped focus of Orange's rock sonics gives Tim Presley exactly what he needed the most: open space to sing into, and songs to sing. The rest is White Fence magik at its most dark, as Tim's restless free-allusivation trippifyingly transforms the cramped confines of heart wracked self-excoriation right before our eyes and ears! In pop songs. On (the mixing) board with White Fence/on the (drum) kit with Tim is Ty Segall. Engineering tactics fully hand-in-glove with the White Fence intent, they produce a clean and uncrowded space to mount up all the rock 'n balladry, their clean lines surrounded by an emphatic/unalterable (minimalist) frame. Tim's lyric sets and chord progressions, with their perspectives, time codes and smash cuts, give up eleven fleeting glimpses from the other side of the 'Fence, each outfitted as foot-forward pop tunes for maximum rock 'n roll. Playing with genre throughout the album like a space-age Kinks, Tim's natty wordplay splatters against the songs' rock-solid edifice, spilling an infinitum of cracked, shaggy realities, billowing, mirrored, sharded. When it all moves, you move, and that's fun. Orange is an unstill life; a bowlful of Tim's latest conceptions for guitar band, grown larger through thoughts, feelings, SONGS and some keys and synth from Alice Sandhal (+ 2 drum cameos from the ever-righteous Dylan Hadley). A trance-like chronology of consciousness, captured in opalescent diamond tightness and ice fidelity at Ty's Harmonizer II studio. It's a KILLER. White Fence is Orange on time this time!"

IRAMA, RHOMA Begadang: Soneta Group Best Songs 1975-1980 LP
Dang dut is the biggest musical genre in Indonesia. Dangdut, onomatopoetic name from the sound of hand drums used in this type of music, is what reggae to Jamaicans, country to Americans or skiffle to mid-20th century British people. And in this genre of dang dut, the name Rhoma Irama looms large. He is to this day the undisputable king of dang dut and his role as pioneer of the music is already in the history book. Most of Rhoma's well-known compositions may have been influenced by Indian tunes but some of his best quality works owed much to the West. Rhoma had long found home in Western pop music. In the early 1960s, after honing his guitar playing skill, Rhoma set up his first band Gayhand to play the tunes of The Beatles, Paul Anka, and Tom Jones. Yet, nothing changed Rhoma's fortune in the music industry, to a point where he decided to leave pop and switched to playing Orkes Melayu (Malay Orchestra) music, first with Orkes Melayu Purnama and later with Soneta Group. His career soon took off with Soneta, especially after he introduced what ethnomusicologist William H. Frederick considered as "theatre", through which Rhoma borrows many elements from stage performances of British and American rock bands. These elements, kitsch and pomp, he liberally adopted and became an inseparable part of dangdut itself; tight pants, long hair, platform shoes, glitter and glamour which would not be out of place in Elton John and David Bowie stage show. From technical point of view, Rhoma not only replaced the acoustic elements from Melayu Music with electric instruments but also created new synthetic sounds that has never been attempted before in Indonesia's music industry. Notice how Rhoma reproduced funk, which is all the rage in early 1970s, in the song "Santai" (Relax), this album's closer, or "Credit Title (Instrumentalia)" which opens this Darah Muda (Young Blood) soundtrack. The rubbery bass lines that open both songs can easily find home in any Sly and the Family Stone's or Isaac Hayes' tunes from that era. The 13 tracks contained in this compilation Begadang: Soneta Group Best Songs, 1975-1980 are some the most innovative music that came out of Indonesia's music scene in the 1970s, tunes that has cemented Rhoma Irama's status as the king of the genre. Only 500 copies were pressed for this compilation.

LUMENTA, DAVE Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash: Original Music Score and Soundtrack LP
The award-winning film Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash (2021) is romantic drama set in a working-class neighborhood of Indonesia's West Java. Although the story was set in the 1980s, the film's music director Dave Lumenta didn't want to use music from that period. He didn't want to automatically go with dangdut, the musical genre, a mix of Malay, Indian and modern pop music, the music of choice for majority Indonesia's working class. He simply didn't want the film to be stuck in the time setting and the social class. The film's scoring is richer, inspired not only by dangdut, but also by rock. In order for his imagination to be free of that time and social context, he decided to make music that was based on the film's characters. Lumenta was interested in vulnerability, because it's something the audience finds in the main character Ajo Kawir, an impotent who is unable to have an erection. Iteung, on the other hand, is someone who is very liberal in terms of her sexuality, but she also struggles with a traumatic past. The film successfully portrays the clash of these two characters. And from identifying these two characters, the composer creates a melody or leitmotif that represents each character. The use of analogue instruments is consistent with the film's spirit, which is shot using analogue camera. Lumenta created the music using acoustic instruments, such as the recorder, along with other sounds from an analogue synthesizer. The sound produced may not be perfect, similar to the grainy quality of an analogue film. But it is precisely due to that imperfection that the eyes and ears are compelled to watch and listen actively; listeners must squint to catch something more perfect, or listen closely to filter out imperfections in the sound. Consuming art created with analogue tools requires a different method of listening, watching, and working process.

ALIEN SIGNAL Whispers From Distant Suns LP
After a 30-year interstellar silence, the enigmatic producer Alien Signal -- pioneering alias of Italian electronic composer Alex Silvi -- reemerges with Whispers from Distant Suns, a transcendent odyssey that bridges retro-futurism and modern electronica. Hailed as a magnum opus, this album transcends genre boundaries, captivating ambient purists, downtempo aficionados, and even experimental listeners with its hypnotic fusion of analog warmth and digital precision. Whispers from Distant Suns marries nostalgic synth textures with cutting-edge production. Silvi's mastery of melody shines through in tracks like "Stardust Memories" and "Fragile Eden" where shimmering arpeggios and celestial pads drift over robotic, glitch-infused drum patterns and sparse, meditative percussion. The result is a paradox: a retro-futuristic soundscape that feels simultaneously ancient and alien, familiar yet unexplored. Pressed on heavyweight vinyl, the album's physical release amplifies its immersive qualities. The gatefold sleeve, adorned with surrealist astrophotography and metallic foiling, mirrors the music's cosmic ethos. This album is a testament to Silvi's evolution. Whispers from Distant Suns is more than an album -- it's a transcendent odyssey. Spanning time, space, and the artist's own creative evolution, this immersive work invites listeners to lose themselves in its ebb and flow. Designed for moments both intimate and expansive, its balearic-tinged atmospheres resonate equally through dawnlit Mediterranean terraces or the solitary glow of headphones in darkness.

Drawing inspiration from his post 2006 adventures as one half of Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve, alongside Trash's Erol Alkan, this compilation shows how a more connected world has blown the dust off a paradoxically sometimes straightjacketed scene. The result is a dizzyingly wide-ranging collection that explores the further out there reaches of worldwide psychedelia and dancefloor mayhem. Despite their disparate origins what does unite these tracks is that they aren't just there to zone out to on a bean bag as projections of swirling colored oils and psychedelic patterns wash over you. Mr Norris may change brains but his DJ sets also move feet, and whether it's their killer guitar riffs, oscillating synths floor shaking drums or soulful Hammond organs these are all cuts that from festival tents to underground clubs have proven time and time again to get people dancing. Featuring Banchee, The Dirty Filthy Mud, Wool, Spencer Mac, Trifle, Brainticket, Emma De Angelis, Blonde On Blonde, The Braen's Machine, Eddie Warner & Roger Roger, K?y Kardeler, The Children, Moebius & Beerbohm, Demon Fuzz, Iron Butterfly, Rare Bird, Paul St. John, Chris Hodge, Juantrip, 62 Miles From Space, White Trash, Blue Phantom, The Mannheim Rock Ensemble, Limousine, Ugo Busoni, Bernard Estardy, Kate, Dyna-Might, La Metamorfosi, Andr? NOVELLER I Am The Weather LP
"Multi-instrumentalist Sarah Lipstate brings her innovative music to life under the name Noveller. Forming unexpected sonic routes, her songs are vivid and cinematic. Following several years spent collaborating with Iggy Pop, and touring the world as his guitarist, Lipstate returns with a new album of her own. I Am The Weather further expands her inventive explorations, creating what Pop once described to Jim Jarmusch as 'symphonies for people that don't have a lot of time.' Sarah's work as a composer, notably for the HBO Docuseries Breath Of Fire, as well as the Anthony Bourdain documentary Roadrunner, has greatly influenced her new constructions, incorporating piano, percussion and a new studio filled with excitement into her signature guitar sculpting. It is the baby grand at the center of her studio that welcomes you to the record on 'Sunday in Copenhagen' before ceding to a celestial six string swell. The percussive rhythms of 'Divining Dance' awaken a new morning in 'The Way of Our Flood' and walk towards the bowed grace of 'Otherside of Mountainside.' Surging into the sky, 'Portmerion' allows 'Beyond the Fells' to glide back down to Earth, revealing the album's biggest surprise -- a vocal track! It seems fitting given their past, that the first vocals on a Noveller record would be delivered by the legendary Iggy Pop. Written specifically for The Godfather of Punk, a noir-ish tale of a man over-matched by a femme fatale, 'The Girl Who Was Death' builds with tension and release. Following their collaboration on the title track to Iggy's album Free, (also used in a global campaign for PETA) and their interpretation of Dylan Thomas' 'Do Not Go Gently Into The Night,' Iggy was eagerly awaiting the opportunity to add vocals to another Lipstate composition. A scene set as if on opposite ends of a corner booth at the Double R Diner in Twin Peaks, he delivers each line with the weight of a thousand lives lived. The result is a song so vivid that you can see it projected ten feet tall on the walls all around you. I Am The Weather is the first new release for the Experimentia label, which will soon be the home for the entire Noveller catalogue."

SLEEVEENS, THE National Anthem LP
"A Dublin-born, stylistically-restless but fundamentally punk troubadour, Stefan Murphy emerged in the early '00s under the moniker The Mighty Stef, which became a full-band concern around 2007, wrapped up in 2016, and was followed by a short stint as Count Vaseline. Then, in 2019, Murphy met a gentleman by the name of James Mechan, who happened to be Stiff Little Fingers' guitar tech. Mechan wanted to record Murphy at his Nashville studio. Those plans were derailed by the pandemic but not forgotten when Murphy moved to Nashville in 2022. Work commenced, the pair were joined by Ryan Sweeney (of Cheap Time) on drums and Eli Steele (Sweet Knives) on lead guitar. The result was The Sleeveens, named after an Irish slang for 'trixter' -- not the earthly type responsible for a plastic Aztec death whistle on your exhaust pipe but rather the otherworldly one that temporarily vanishes the keys to the vehicle. The Sleeveens' debuted on 7-inch with 2023's 'Give My Regards To The Dancing Girls' on Sweeney's Sweet Time label and 'UFO's' b/w The Four Tops' 'Bernadette' on Interstate 94 Recordings in 2024, followed by their fantastic self-titled LP on Dirtnap Records the same year, which gained traction on independent radio thanks to bangers like 'Metallica Font' and 'Aretha Franklin.' An official Gonerfest 22 inclusion, the band has also shared stages with G.G. King, Schizophonics, Total Hell, TV Crime, The Chats, The Lemonheads and many others. National Anthem should and could comfortably sit on the proverbial shelf of rock history next to all-timers with titles like Even Serpents Shine, Eternally Yours, All Rise, Setting Suns, Radios Appear, Nobody's Heroes, Sorry Ma, I Forgot To Take Out The Trash, and Rocket To Russia."

LOS NEGATIVOS Piknik Caleidoscopico LP
From Barcelona, Los Negativos stood out within the 1980s sixties-revival scene thanks to their carefully crafted look, lyrics, and thrilling songs. With their first album, Piknik Caleidosc?pico, originally released in 1986, they masterfully combined pop, psychedelia, garage, beat, and folk-rock, creating a distinctive lysergic universe that continues to captivate 40 years after its release. This 40th-anniversary reissue of Piknik Caleidosc?pico preserves the album's original artwork but, for the first time, includes the black-and-white back cover, which is how the band originally designed it. In addition, the audio has been remastered again by the album's original producer, Enric Lindo, together with the members of Los Negativos. It also includes an eight-page trilingual booklet (Spanish, Catalan, and English) with informative notes by journalist and band's official biographer ?lex Or?, plus rare photos/memorabilia and a reproduction of the original lyrics insert.

JONES, JERICHO Junkies, Donkeys and Monkeys LP
Born from Israel's groundbreaking psychedelic pioneers The Churchills, Jericho Jones emerged in 1971 with Junkies, Monkeys & Donkeys -- an internationally-minded leap into hard rock, proto-prog, and melodic songwriting. Recorded in a single, electrifying 24-hour session at London's Tangerine Studios, the album captures a band in full creative flight. Blending heavy riffs, lush melodies, and subtle Middle Eastern influences, Junkies, Monkeys & Donkeys stands today as a lost classic of early '70s rock -- a vital bridge between psychedelia and the heavier sounds that followed. Features original artwork in gatefold sleeve. Newly remastered sound. Includes insert with detailed liner notes by Mike Stax (Ugly Things) with input from original member Robb Huxley as well as extra insert with lyrics.

BEAT IN Beat In LP
One of the hidden treasures of the Spanish '90s garage-revival scene, Madrid's Beat In blended beat, folk-rock, and pop, heavily influenced by bands like The Remains, Byrds, Zombies, Hollies, Kinks, and Easybeats. Songs full of melody, energy, and a true '60s spirit that never made it beyond demo tapes are now rescued and restored by Guerssen Records to celebrate the label's 30th anniversary. In the mid-'90s, Antoni, founder of Guerssen, received a cassette with demos by a Madrid band called Beat In. Despite the home-recorded sound, those songs had something special that hooked him: irresistible melodies, sparkling harmonies, and a clear connection to names like The Remains, The Byrds, and the West Coast sound. Now, Guerssen tracked down the main songwriters, Marcos de Ben and Fernando Maest?, who sent more recordings. The project slowly began to take shape, and it finally crystallized when Guerssen discovered that Jes?s Sanz -- respected music tastemaker and someone Alex Carretero at Guerssen followed on social media had been the band's bassist. With Guerssen's 30th anniversary approaching, it was the perfect moment: now or never. Although Guerssen is known for rescuing psychedelic rarities from the '60s and '70s, releasing the Beat In recordings makes perfect sense. Active between 1989 and 1992 and friends with bands like Sex Museum, Los Potros (with whom they shared many influences), or Snap!, Beat In were a group deeply in love with '60s pop but with a personality of their own. In a scene dominated by raw and dirty garage sounds, they stood out for their melodic side. They left behind a good handful of home demos with memorable songs, and it's quite possible that, had they continued, they might have become one of the first bands of the Spanish indie movement.

JERICHO Jericho LP
Already pioneers at home under their earlier name The Churchills, the band relocated to the UK in 1971 under the guidance of a big management, changing their name to Jericho Jones and finally Jericho. Released by A&M in February 1972, the self-titled Jericho album was heavier, longer, and more progressive than anything they had done before. Built around extended compositions, fearless arrangements, and telepathic ensemble playing, it captured a band operating at full creative stretch. The album opens with "Ethiopia," a ferocious multi-section rocker whose volcanic riffing and sudden twists set the tone for everything that follows. "Don't You Let Me Down," later issued as a single, delivers urgent hooks wrapped in the group's distinctive modal flavor. The towering "Featherbed" moves from melodic introspection to a widescreen instrumental workout that became the band's breakthrough moment on British stages. At the heart of the record lies "Justin and Nova," Robb Huxley's sweeping, cinematic psychedelic/ progressive epic. With its emotional narrative, dramatic dynamics, and lush piano and strings, the track has grown into a cult classic, often cited by fans as one of the era's lost masterpieces. The album closes with "Kill Me With Your Love" a hard-edged, proto-metal piece, ending the journey in grand, theatrical fashion. Internal strains and homesickness soon led to lineup changes, and despite tours, new singles, and even interest from heavyweight industry figures, momentum proved difficult to sustain. Within a short time, Jericho was over. Newly remastered sound. Includes original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve and insert with detailed liner notes by Mike Stax (Ugly Things) with input from original member Robb Huxley. Also includes extra insert with lyrics.

OLIVER Standing Stone LP
Part-time farmer/musician Oliver Chaplin is the person behind one of the rarest private pressings from the UK. His cult masterpiece Standing Stone was recorded in early 1974 at a remote farm in Wales, using a portable 4-track Teac reel-to-reel machine. Helped by his brother Chris at the controls (an experienced BBC engineer who had worked on Syd Barrett sessions), surrounded by animals and "smaller winged creatures," Oliver sang and played acoustic and electric guitars filtered through tape echo, distortion and multi-tracking, creating a very unique sound, a kind of DIY mutant-psychedelic-blues (think Captain Beefheart) which sounded years ahead of its time. Despite the lo-fi nature of the recording, the sound quality is amazing and timeless. Only 250 copies of the album were pressed and it even caught the attention of the Virgin label, who were interested in distribution but Oliver finally refused their offer. Musicians like JJ Cale expressed interest in Oliver's music, inviting him to a jam session but in the end, Oliver decided he was not interested in the music business and left Wales to travel around Europe. He remains a kind of a mysterious figure and Guerssen now offers a new, long-awaited reissue of Standing Stone, sanctioned by the artist.

Inspired by soul, funk, jazz, and hip-hop, his auditory identity is one of profound melodic effusion and expert percussive sequences, absorbed within life-affirming atmospheres. "Can't Go" feels like yet another landmark, tuning itself into the pulsating energies of the club, drawing lines between bass music, footwork, garage and jungle. The release is completed with "Distant," featuring fuller harmonies, a tear-jerking chordal line and a spiritual sax solo.

KILOTONI Barseback 12"
Another batch of forgotten and previously unreleased radioactive acid techno has surfaced on the anonymous, vinyl-only Kilotoni imprint -- possibly their strongest release so far. The peak of acid techno is perhaps found in its most stripped-down form. As the bass line throbs your breath out, you try to chase the kick drum in a game of hide-and-seek until complete exhaustion. The kick drum keeps pounding its way through while a lonely TB-303 is traveling in its own space and time. Influenced perhaps by the Midwest acid techno style, this could be a mid-90s DAT-tape lost inside the transatlantic postal system on its way to the Analog Records USA headquarters.

GUSGUS Arabian Horse 2LP
2026 repress; gatefold 2LP version. Includes download code. Iceland's GusGus graces Kompakt with a second album, after their enigmatic debut for the label 24/7, which earned the trio much acclaim thanks to its conceptual rigidity and pure glamour. Conceived solely with the help of two precious Doepfer modular systems and Daniel August's all-pervasive vocals, it could easily have been characterized as GusGus' unofficial live album. For Arabian Horse, their seventh studio album, President Bongo, Biggi Veira and Daniel August set up a makeshift studio in a summer cottage in the depths of the lava field. Secluded in silence and beauty, they produced something that really showcases GusGus' versatility and stunning songwriting ability. A vast array of illustrious guest musicians and singers abound on these powerful new songs. Most prominently, this album features the long-awaited return of former band member and gifted vocalist Ur?ur "Earth" H?konard?ttir, who appears on three songs. H?gni Elisson of the band Hjaltalin lends his voice to some of the album's most memorable and deepest moments. Sam?el J?n Sam?elsson contributes the elevating, goosebump-inducing string arrangements and David Thor Jonsson contributes accordion and the banjo. Even an un-named gypsy combo leaves their mark here. Compared to GusGus' stripped-down predecessor for Kompakt, this album is much more in-your-face -- the songs brim with big gestures, enthralling hooks, pop and soul. Take the powerful schaffel anthem "Deep Inside," which makes use of big room chords, a ferocious bass line and a vocal duel, or "Within You," where strings converge with breathtaking vocals and an addictive techno bass kick. GusGus retrace their original influences, creating an album that recalls a forgotten period of early '90s dance pop (think The Beloved), classic house music and urban soul ? la Massive Attack. But make no mistake, Arabian Horse does not sound like pure retro in any way. It's deeply rooted in the sound of today, backed by one of the most state-of-the-art quality productions Kompakt has released to date. Still need a tag? Why not: Icelandic hi-tech soul.

KOLSCH 1977 2LP
2026 repress. Gatefold double LP version featuring 6 of the tracks from the 13 track CD. Speicher staple and renowned club juggernaut K?lsch debuts on Kompakt with the full-length 1977, an extraordinary collection of club gems that introduces his earlier masterpieces to exclusive new material. Here, the epic, the rad, and the snappy find themselves under one expertly-crafted groove, making this album an essential choice for both home clubbers and floor hounds. Your new best friend is here and it's a record. Despite the name and despite Kompakt's well-documented love for Cologne's beer, K?lsch isn't a local and he didn't label himself after the famed brew. Even with a much-acclaimed print run and a series of venerated live appearances under his belt, award-winning Danish producer Rune Reilly K?lsch has to regularly duck quizzical questions about his heritage. 1977 isn't a simple "best of" hack job, however: with new crackers "Basshund," "Bappedekkel," and "Eiswinter" lighting the fire, K?lsch doesn't need to worry about future impact. And then there's a cut like the emotive "Oma." The sweeping "Wasserschutz" and a Trojan horse called "Felix," originally intended to be an album outro of sorts. But then someone pushed the button and the transdimensional portal sprang to life.

DETTINGER Intershop (Remastered 2024) LP
2026 restock. Dettinger's Intershop and Oasis have long been held, by many fans of ambient and electronic music, to be some of the finest albums in their field. Produced by the mysterious Olaf Dettinger, about whom not much is publicly known, they were some of the earliest full-lengths released by the then-nascent Kompakt, and in many ways, they both articulated and defined the sound that would come to be known as pop ambient, while also existing, somehow, to the leftfield of any clearly recognizable genre. Beautiful, sui generis works, it is a rare pleasure to see them being reissued on vinyl for a new generation of listeners to embrace. Originally released on CD only in 1999, Intershop was Kompakt's first artist full-length. The music here simmers and broods, with opulent banks of tone marking out territory for rhythms that seem to be built from the clacking detritus of technology -- hisses, thunks, knocks. Bass is deployed carefully, each drop a dubbed-out depth charge; drones spin and spiral, warping and weaving between the beats. There is, of course, other music to know Dettinger by, too -- his three excellent EPs for Kompakt, Blond (1998), Puma, and Totentanz (1999), the latter of which, Michael Mayer once argued, "invented dubstep." There is also a small, yet graceful run of compilation contributions, many of which can be found on Kompakt's Total and Pop Ambient series. All this music has plenty to recommend it, sharing a clarity of purpose, and a rare, human warmth and depth. But Intershop and Oasis are the releases that distill Dettinger's singular vision, and allow him, should he wish, to claim his place as a modern master of ambient and electronic music.

ROXANNE, ANA Poem 1 CD
"'I wanted to try / And go very far.' These are the first words on Poem 1 and reintroduce an artist who's in a conspicuously different phase of her life than she was when her debut album, Because of a Flower, sprouted nearly six years ago. Heartbroken and reflective, Ana Roxanne surveys the transformations that followed and displays a new-found boldness. Her voice is naked, vulnerable and alive, no longer shrouded in tape noise or looped and echoed beyond recognition beneath layered electroacoustic textures. Throughout the course of Poem 1, Roxanne displays her skill as a singer and songwriter in the classic sense, using the limited instrumentation simply to accent her exposed tones. Muted piano phrases and plucked bass notes languidly trail her anguished siren song on 'Berceuse in A-flat Minor, Op. 45,' making each word count. On 'Keepsake' meanwhile, she sounds as if she's alone in an abandoned bar, stroking the dust off the piano's keys as she inventories her emotional scars. There's a smell of old whisky in the air, but Poem 1 is a remarkably sober album; never wallowing in self-pity, Roxanne finds catharsis in the logic of her expressions, twisting out the edges of her memories into surreal, cinematic asides. 'Untitled II,' the album's pronounced, uninhibited centerpiece, delivers on the Lynchian promise that's been present since her first EP. Purring over a brushy, decelerated rhythm and funereal piano, Roxanne glances the edge of a hot spotlight, cutting through the stage smoke with her glassy evocations. And when she interprets the Robert Schumann's lied 'Stille Tr?nen' on 'One Shall Sleep,' she turns Justinus Kerner's words into a whispered echo of her own grief, narrating the 19th-century poem over syrupy synthesizers and strings. There's a light emerging on the horizon, though; burying her past on the choral standout 'Cover Me,' Roxanne shifts the pace and the mood on 'Atonement,' lifting her voice into a gentle lilt."

ST. HILAIRE, PAUL w/ The Producers 2LP
Legendary dub techno artist Paul St. Hilaire (AKA Tikiman) presents this new collaborative album, marking ten years of Kynant Records. Building on the success of Paul St. Hilaire's landmark solo album for Richard Akingbehin's label Kynant in 2023, w/ The Producers switches up the formula to pair St. Hilaire's with a different producer on each track. Referencing fellow dub techno pioneers Mark Ernestus & Moritz von Oswald's acclaimed album w/ The Artists as Rhythm & Sound, St. Hilaire flips the concept to feature as the lone vocalist. Over the album's nine tracks, St. Hilaire offers a range of conscious song-writing and headtop musings, such as the spoken-word dread of "What's This" or the sparse call-to-action of "Send Them On." The record weaves through all shades of contemporary dub evolutions, showing the vocal range and versatility of St. Hilaire. w/ The Producers is yet another essential record in St. Hilaire's unmatched discography. w/ The Producers finds Kynant Records bridging the original voice of dub techno with the genre's new wave. It's a statement of intent from the label, which began with deep, hypnotic techno and has veered gradually towards more dubwise sounds.

TUKAN Human Drift CD
With Human Drift, Tukan continues to explore human connections through music. This album marks a new phase in their journey, after years of performing on international stages and resonating with an ever more diverse audience. Human Drift embodies this collective movement, this human drift where the individual is swept away by a force larger than themselves. In a world leaning towards isolation and individualism, Human Drift is a celebration of connection. Each track blends electronic grooves with instrumental melodies to highlight how music can transcend language and create authentic bonds between people. They want their audience to feel, through every note, the raw and organic energy they experience on stage. Echoing their music, the visual universe of this album also focuses on the human element. It's all about bodies in motion, imperfections that reveal the authenticity of the moment. Just like on stage, they aim to capture sweat, emotions, and communion. Every detail matters: wrinkles, smiles, flashes of light in the dark. They seek to show the beauty of disorder and the unexpected. Human Drift was composed with the idea of what music can provoke in a collective space: transformation. It's an album that encourages letting go, immediate connection, where each sound is an invitation to surrender and drift together towards unforeseen horizons. Human Drift is a human experience, an album that embodies the spirit of community, celebration, and sharing. They hope that, like them, you'll let yourself be carried away by the drift. For fans of Caribou, Floating Points, and Four Tet.

VA Soul To Soul: Music From The Original Soundtrack (DVD) DVD
DVD is NTSC. Region Code: 0. "In 1971 several dozen African American soul, jazz, and gospel artists embarked on a journey that would change the lives of everyone involved. They traveled from New York City to Ghana, West Africa to take part in a 13-hour concert entitled Soul to Soul. The concert was a celebration of 14 years of Ghana's independence from British rule. For most of these artists it was their first trip to Africa. For the African American musicians, this was a journey about personal roots, the ancestral homeland, history, discovery, loss, pain and joy. Directed by Academy Award winner Denis Sanders the concert film/documentary had a limited theatrical run in 1971. It now returns restored with the original edit reconstructing each scene using high quality 2K transfers from the original film elements, which were shot in the 4:3 aspect ratio. The soundtrack has been digitally remastered. Soul to Soul is an electrifying concert film that features its players at the peak of their powers. The Ike & Tina Turner Revue deliver fiery renditions of 'River Deep-Mountain High,' 'Soul to Soul,' a cut specifically written for this concert; and Otis Redding's 'I've Been Loving You Too Long.' Wilson Pickett, the most popular American artist known to West Africans at the time, delivers a rousing finale of 'In the Midnight Hour,' 'Funky Broadway,' and 'Land of a 1000 Dances.' Gospel/Soul family group the Staples Singers were on hand to perform 'When Will Be We Paid' and 'Are You Sure.' Les McCann and Eddie Harris introduced many to jazz via spirited performances of 'The Price You Gotta Pay to Be Free' and 'Hey Jorler,' the latter featuring local Ghanaian artist Amoah Azangeo. Santana, with guest percussionist Willie Bobo was the wild card. The group only had one African American member but given its reliance on Afro-Cuban and Latin American rhythm constructs played the most African-sounding music of any with 'Black Magic Woman'/'Gypsy Queen' and 'Jungle Strut.'"

LOOM & THREAD Dispersion LP
With Dispersion, Loom & Thread return to the volatile architecture of the expanded piano trio -- and quietly fracture it from within. Daniel Klein (drums), Tobias Fr?hlich (double bass) and Tom Schneider (keys, sampler) remain the sole agents on stage and in the final recording. The triangle holds. And yet, the field has expanded. For their second studio album, the trio fed their improvisations with the timbral signatures of guest saxophone and vibraphone players -- not just as additional voices to be featured, but also as material to be absorbed, atomized and redistributed. The result is not augmentation but thorough refraction. Where the debut album explored the recursive labyrinth of Schneider's live sampling of his own piano, Dispersion introduces an external grain into the feedback system. Breath and metal. Reed turbulence and struck resonance. The trio sampled extended improvisations by saxophone and vibes players: Victor Fox, Asger Nissen, Volker Heuken, and L&T's own Daniel Klein; dissected their attacks, overtones and decay curves, and integrated these fragments into the trio's internal circuitry. What emerges is a play of presences without bodies -- instrumental ghosts circulating through the dense weave of rhythm and keys. A vibraphone shimmer appears, yet no mallets are visible. A reed multiphonic surges through the texture, bending space between bass and drums. These events are neither quotations nor overlays; they are redistributed energies, dispersed across the trio's grammar. A digital multidimensional interplay ensues. The sampled materials from other improvisers are stripped of their erstwhile two-way interaction and reconstituted as malleable particles. Signifier detached from origin, resonance detached from gesture. The trio navigates a constantly shifting topology in which acoustic memory and electronic manipulation are indistinguishable. Crucially, the album never abandons the physical urgency of three musicians reacting in real time. The additional timbral layers do not thicken the texture into opacity; rather, they introduce stark points and arrows of diffraction. Dispersion is not about addition but about distribution -- of agency, of timbre, of temporal perspective. It is an album in which the trio setting becomes a site of multiplicity without surrendering its immediacy. A dissolution not only of the divide between present experience and memory, but between inside and outside, self and other. Three musicians. Countless vectors. A music that fractures in order to cohere.

VA Boccaccio Life: 1987-1993 4CD
Belgian label Music Man Records presents Boccaccio Life 1987-1993, a new compilation offering a fresh perspective on the legacy of the iconic Belgian club Boccaccio -- often associated with the short-lived New Beat movement. The 40-track compilation highlights the raw and futuristic early house and techno sounds that were heard in the pioneering club. Located in rural Destelbergen (Belgium), just a stone's throw from Ghent, Boccaccio has secured its place among legendary venues like Paradise Garage in New York and The Ha?ienda in Manchester. Boccaccio Life 1987-1993 is carefully curated by resident DJ Olivier Pieters and club regular Stefaan Vandenberghe, standing as the ultimate testament to a club that was more than just a venue. This compilation stands as a testament to an innovative time in electronic music, capturing the raw, futuristic sounds of early house and techno. It sheds light on another side of Boccaccio, one that goes far beyond the short-lived New Beat scene. A carefully curated selection of 40 tracks, resonating with those who were there by offering familiar classics, while also reaching a new generation-those who never experienced it firsthand. While not always the obvious hits, these tracks have gracefully withstood the test of time, and were exclusive to Sundays at Boccaccio. Now, they are finally available to experience together in one collection, offering a timeless snapshot of a unique era. Featuring Age Of Chance, Revelation, NJOI, Simon Sed, E-Dancer, Tronikhouse, Suburban Knight, Robert Armani, Edwards & Armani, Human Resource, Fred Brown, Sheer Taft, Basex, 2 Men From Jersey, A Homeboy, A Hippie & A Funki Dredd, Steve Poindexter, Bobby Konders, 33 1/3 Queen, A Guy Called Gerald, Mental Mayhem, The D.O.C., Mellow Man Ace, Tyree, Blake Baxter, Yvette, Alice D In Wonderland, Todd Terry presents CLS, Frankie Bones, LFO, Frank De Wulf, The Orb, Frankie Knuckles, QX-1, Pleasure Zone, Egotrip, The Gherkin Jerks, Mr. Fingers, Laurent X, Joeski, and Virgo.

A2L The Sound Collides With Colour And Shadows Explode 2LP
During their short but prolific career, A2L released two albums, one of which strangely landed on a South African label. They also dropped numerous EPs on labels such as 1st Bass/Big One (home to acts like Deskee, Longsy D, and King Bee) and the German label Force Inc (which hosted artists like Alec Empire, Porter Ricks, and Mike Ink), between 1988 and 1990. While acid house is synonymous with the Roland 303, A2L is unlikely an acid house act. Instead, they stand as one of the finest examples of British psychedelic house music from the late '80s, falling between the likes of S-Express, Funtopia, Eon, and Acid Angels. With standout tracks like "Even Though It's Make Believe" and "Come On," A2L delivers infectious grooves over strobelight sample jams. This here is a collection of early and rare underground British psychedelic house gems from 1989, blending the trippy, mind-expanding sounds of machine funk, new beat, industrial/ebm, samplers and turntables techniques, with the birth of acid house wonderland and captures the raw energy of the UK rave scene. This is one testament to the creative freedom and experimental nature of that era. For fans of the burgeoning British psychedelic and acid house scene.

MEDUSA Medusa CD
Proto-doom metal/stoner/hard-rock by this Mexican band formed in 1972, including their mega-rare early '70s singles plus later material in the same raw vein. Born on D?a de los Muertos in 1972, Medusa emerged from Mexico City with a mission: to forge heavy, hard, Spanish-language rock rooted in social awareness and poetic force. Guitarist Luis Antonio "To?o" Urquiza, drummer V?ctor Moreno, and bassist/vocalist Javier Plascencia shaped their sound influenced by bands like Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath, as well as the turbulence of the 1968 Student Movement, the 1971 Halconazo, and the creative explosion surrounding the legendary Av?ndaro Festival. Friends and contemporaries of bands like Peace & Love, the Dug Dug's, and El Ritual, Medusa quickly stood out for their powerful live presence and politically charged energy. They released their mega rare first single in 1973 and then an EP followed in 1974, but their refusal to compromise their artistic direction led to being dropped before completing a full LP -- pushing them into self-produced, underground recordings throughout the following decades. Despite media marginalization, Medusa remained active into the mid-1980s, playing everywhere from stadiums and TV to prisons and "hoyos fonkis." After a decade-long hiatus, they resurfaced in 1994 to a new generation that embraced them as pioneers of heavy metal and early stoner rock in Mexico. Later joined by Jaime Garc?a Mares, they reaffirmed their status with a landmark 2006 national TV appearance. In 2015, after more sporadic performances and demos, Medusa were honored by Tianguis del Chopo and recognized by the National Sound Archive as the founders of stoner rock in Mexico, becoming subjects of books and a Rolling Stone special on Mexican rock. Shortly after, the band closed a 43-year chapter and its members moved on to personal projects. Now, thanks to recordings rescued from V?ctor Moreno's personal archives, Medusa's early work -- including their four tracks from the '70s and additional raw and unadulterated sessions from the '80s-'90s -- finally appears on CD.

TAKAAT Is Noise Vol. 3 10"
"With bass drones cranked way past 11, frantic guitar shredding passages, and blown out drum machines, Takaat's Is Noise Vol. 3 poses the question, 'what if the Tuareg songwriting legends Tinariwen started a band with drone-lords Sunn O)))?' Well, that might be what Is Noise Vol. 3 kinda sounds like. Drawing from sonic inspiration of blown out Takamba recordings of the Sahel, slinky drum machines of Hausa pop mp3s, and manipulated field recordings collected in Agadez, Niger, Is Noise Vol. 3 is yet another exciting musical departure from its prior volume. Takaat was birthed from the idea of always evolving concepts and taking risks, seeing each volume as an opportunity to explore noisy futures steeped in a shared language of DIY. Through chronological limited 10" EPs you too can take the noise home. Play it loud." --Mikey Coltun

NECKS, THE The Necks Box 8CD BOX
"Formed in Australia the late 1980s by Chris Abrahams, Tony Buck and Lloyd Swanton, the Necks have been hailed by the New York Times as 'one of the greatest bands in the world.' Eight of their best CDs are now in this sturdy box. Includes their first, second, third, and fourth CDs -- Hanging Gardens, Aether, Drive By, The Boys, and their seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth -- Chemist, Townsville, Silverwater, and Mindset. The Necks are a unique and extraordinary trio who have found a musical form that so far (after 25 years) no one has even attempted to imitate. A cult group in their home country, Australia, a decade ago they began to tour in Europe, which has now become their second home, after the release of their first CD there -- which garnered extraordinarily over-the-top reviews. Journalists are still falling over themselves whenever they appear, a phenomenon that's only really understandable if you've heard or seen them. They deliver. With no major label or heavy promotion -- on the strength of their work alone -- they have appeared at just about every major festival, tour regularly without having to really try and release records whenever they feel like it. They seem to prefer it that way."

CELER Poulaine CD
A note from Will Long: "When you're creating something loosely referred to as 'art' with another person, you're mining the depths of minds and experience, searching connections with pasts, each of us producing from a different place. Communication exists as unspoken and simultaneous, more carnal than collaborative, and dwelling rather than saying. You may miss that, wrapped up fantasies of perfectness and lovesick doves. Youth, how fleeting and naive. "Created by commission for the University of California at Irvine as a sound companion for an exhibition of 13 different 14th Century manuscripts. The original pieces existed as 13 different parts for each individual piece of art. Or so the origins of the original release in 2009 on Students of Decay state. What seemed real was a myriad liquor haze, fabrication, or imagination. Embellishment is equivalent to invention, and that moment when you can't tell the difference between dreams or reality (I surely can't remember which is which now) is important -- and must be noted. I remember pouring over 14th century art, utilizing unauthorized library passes, and being witness to the trajectories of two individuals on divergent but somehow-crossing timelines. Originally recorded in 2007-2009 (?) by Danielle Baquet and Will Long, with backpacked gear, garage photography, sleepless nights and skipped work. I brought the tape and made the loops, she brought the laptop and the pen and paper. Try to look at it like this. Recorded in stereo, then split into two tracks for each left and right channel, reversing one side and adding reverse reverb, and the other long reverb and then reversing. Making each stereo again, then putting back together and blending each left and right together to make a stereo track again. This was an age of hybrid experiments between analog tape loops and digital processing, to render a new path, for better or worse. Somehow this correlated with a pad of scribbled poetry -- whether original or quoted (one can never tell), a few random phone numbers, and the omnipresence of long-toed shoes in the 14th century paintings. 'How befitting, like Georgia O'Keefe's flowers.' What all comes down to is this -- that sometimes those paths of yours and theirs cross for a time -- and only for a time, and in that time, you're there in that same place. It doesn't mean that you know the other person, or that you ever will. But maybe, just maybe, you'll be looking for the same thing at that moment, and that's what you've shared, in many different ways, in different directions; backwards, equivocally."

LOCKWOOD, ANNEA World Rhythms CD/BOOK
A note from Lawrence English: "In late 1975, Annea Lockwood realized her composition World Rhythms. It represents one of the first creative works exploring the potentials of field recordings in a multichannel setting. It is a landmark work and a composition that, on its 50th anniversary, has gently carried forward over the decades, but arguably now is only starting to come into true focus, and be understood for exactly how revolutionary it was. World Rhythms was a work concerned with a practice of sustained listening into the world, and beyond. It expanded outward from many of the compositions and themes Annea Lockwood had been exploring since the 1960s. It sought to take those learnings and apply them to a new set of terrains and circumstances. Moreover, it suggested a sensing of sound that was drawn from profound curiosity, matched only by patience. In 2019, I reached out to Annea and started a conversation about a revisitation of World Rhythms. My initial proposition was a simple one: a re-issue that was remastered and touched up, reflecting Annea's thoughts on the piece in this moment. The conversation quickly spun outward though, and before long Annea had asked if I might be interested to revisit the master tapes with the thought that the work could be revived and prepared for performance presentations going forward into this century. On listening to the materials, during the period of restoring the audio from the original master tapes, I was struck by the profound dynamism of the recordings. Each of the sound-fields held an attentive flux, a rhythmic pulse that was breathing. Each one a story of the pulses of the world, and our universe, that spoke to a possible reading of reality that sits in excess of our everyday capacities. A poetics of pulse if you like. Here then is the result of those conversations and also the presentations of the piece that followed -- several of which Annea has overseen herself. On this newly rendered imagining of World Rhythms, new relations, listening paths and ways of exploring her sound-fields are brought into focus. The core of the piece remains, a prioritized zone of listening, but emerging from deep within it new sonic formations emerge, a reminder of the dynamism of our energetic world and its surroundings." Composition by Annea Lockwood; gong performed by Vanessa Tomlinson and Annea Lockwood; mix realized by Lawrence English. Design by Traianos Pakioufakis; essay by Lawrence English.

VAN HELSDINGEN, RENE Coal Mining LP
Sdban Records presents the first official reissue of Coal Mining, the 1978 debut album by Dutch jazz pianist Ren? van Helsdingen. This album marks a significant milestone -- the beginning of van Helsdingen's decades-spanning career as an innovative and independent musician. Born in 1957 in Jakarta, Indonesia, but holding Dutch nationality, Ren? van Helsdingen began classical piano studies in the Netherlands in the early 1960s. Coal Mining was originally released on Munich Records, a respected Dutch jazz and roots label founded by music producer and musician Job Zomer. The album features a blend of jazz influences from giants such as Oscar Peterson, McCoy Tyner, and Bill Evans, and showcases van Helsdingen's distinctive voice as a composer and pianist at the very start of his professional journey. The record includes contributions from a rich ensemble of musicians, including Wim Essed (bass), Klaus Flenter (guitar), B?rge Ring (double bass), Henk Zomer (drums), Martijn Nesenberend (drums), Dick Pluim (bass), and even a student orchestra formed during van Helsdingen's time at Delft University. Coal Mining is both a literal and symbolic title. It alludes not only to van Helsdingen's brief academic past, but to the depth and labor of jazz creation itself: layered, gritty, and forged under pressure. A year after the album's release, van Helsdingen moved to Los Angeles to continue his jazz studies. While living in Hollywood, he shared a house with future musical collaborators including Kent Brinkley, Essiet Okon Essiet, Brian Batie, John Rigby, Edmond Allmond, David Best and John Butler. Even in the early stages of his career, van Helsdingen displayed the entrepreneurial spirit that would define his path, self-releasing albums and even pioneering an early form of crowdfunding by selling 400 ad spaces on a record sleeve to finance an LP project. After his jazz studies in Los Angeles, he performed extensively in Europe, Canada, the U.S. Australia and Asia, often traveling with his own "Stage bus," which housed both a stage and instruments. In August 2018, van Helsdingen was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Despite the physical challenges brought on by the condition, he continues to perform and compose music. His openness about the diagnosis -- shared publicly in a 2019 documentary -- has helped raise awareness of Parkinson's and the role of creativity and improvisation as tools for resilience. Now, nearly five decades after its initial release, Coal Mining is finally receiving a well-deserved reissue. Introducing a new generation of listeners to the raw talent and visionary beginnings of a true European jazz original.

Each groove, rhythm and pulse channels raw energy, acting as a disruptor that drives transformation. BNNYHUNNA Echoes Of Prayer LP
Following the success of his debut album Echoes of Prayer Ghanaian-Dutch artist Bnnyhunna presents the album's first-ever vinyl release. Echoes of Prayer stands as a deeply personal and spiritual work that reflects Bnnyhunna's faith, his early experiences growing up in church, and his West African heritage. Every track on the album serves as a form of prayer, a conversation with God. The album showcases his ability to weave poetic lyrics, vivid visuals, and captivating melodies, creating an immersive experience that resonates on a spiritual and emotional level. Bnnyhunna's signature fusion of jazz, hip-hop, gospel, and Afro rhythms highlights his versatility and musical integrity. Echoes of Prayer also blends elements of '70s P-Funk grooves, gospel harmonies, and modern hip-hop rhythms. Each song represents a different facet of Bnnyhunna's artistic vision. The album's diverse sound is elevated by collaborations with The Cavemen, who lend their signature highlife revival, and Jembaa Groove, who contribute with West African-inspired rhythms. Bnnyhunna challenges conventional music by engaging all the senses through photography, videography, and poetry. The release of Echoes of Prayer follows a year of significant achievements for Bnnyhunna. In 2024, he performed for Highsnobiety at Paris Fashion Week, appeared at prestigious festivals such as Dekmantel and Zwarte Cross, and played a standout performance at the Steam Down Weekly series in London. Additionally, he composed an original score for the Dutch National Opera and won the Edison Pop Award, one of the most prestigious music awards in the Netherlands (often referred to as the Dutch Grammys), in the Soul/R&B/Funk category. With the vinyl release of Echoes of Prayer, Bnnyhunna offers fans a tangible, collectible edition of his powerful debut.

BNNYHUNNA Psalm Funk LP
Limited brown vinyl. On Psalm Funk, Bnnyhunna deepens the artistic language he first articulated on his celebrated debut Echoes of a Prayer. Rather than retracing familiar ground, the Amsterdam-based composer and producer expands his palette, allowing rhythm and space to carry as much narrative weight as harmony and lyricism. While Echoes of a Prayer felt personal and devoted, Psalm Funk opens things up. Gospel harmonies stay central to his music, but now they are energized by smooth funk rhythms and heightened by the flexibility of jazz improvisation. Bnnyhunna moves between styles effortlessly, in a way that nothing seems borrowed, but everything feels lived in. At the center of the record is an understanding of space. Silence acts not as an absence but as a structure. It signifies a subtle but important change in Bnnyhunna as an artist, moving from inward reflection to forward momentum, from prayer as personal dialogue to prayer as a physical expression. The clarity, discipline, and emotional depth that marked his debut remain, now directed into something more rhythmically confident and spiritually uplifting. Fusing gospel, funk, jazz, and African rhythmic traditions, Psalm Funk serves as both a meditation and an outpouring. It invites deep thought while demanding a physical response. The album includes collaborations with American saxophonist Braxton Cook, trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey of Kokoroko, 3DDY, and Reggie Dartey, among others. The singles "Sorry Not Sorry" and "Waiting For You" have already hinted at the project's range, while the latest single, "The Heart Part 2," further expands on the album's dynamic and emotional scope. Featuring 3DDY, Reggie Dartey, Marco Bernadis, Sheila Maurice-Grey, Braxton Cook & Tallulah Rose.

KRAMER/THURSTON MOORE, BONNER They Came Like Swallows: Seven Requiems for the Children of Gaza CD
"Two giants of alternative/experimental music join creative forces for the first time in their storied, nearly fifty-year careers. A startlingly cohesive union that burns through landscapes of primitive outsider rock, avant-garde composition, progressive ambient and further locales boldly and beautifully unnamable. Bonner Kramer (previously known as Kramer) decoded the sounds of Galaxie 500 as producer on all of their records as well as producing Low, Will Oldham, and Urge Overkill's hit single 'Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon' for the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, to name just a few of his over three hundred and seventy producer credits listed on Discogs. He is the proprietor of iconic indie label Shimmy-Disc (a one-time home to Daniel Johnston, Ween, Boredoms, and John Zorn's Naked City among countless others), and an esteemed recording studio mastermind. Thurston Moore is a founding member of Sonic Youth, and responsible for Chelsea Light Moving and a massive and varied solo career, and remains an era-and genre-defining composer, cultural critic, prime mover of all things cool, and one of the most iconic, singular guitarists in rock music's long tail, the keystone of the explored tension between rock and noise."

VA Zamaan Ya Sukkar 7"
At the height of Pan-Arabism, when the United Arab Republic fused Egypt and Syria in a fleeting but bold experiment, a new wave of popular music was emerging -- vibrant, infectious, and universally danceable. Among its lesser-known stars was actress Leila Gamal, whose voice -- delicate yet rich with longing -- embodied the golden era of Egyptian cinema. Born in Alexandria to Syrian roots, Gamal's vocals were a magnetic blend of sweetness and passion, with a timeless allure that echoed the silver-screen sweethearts of her time. "Abaleeh Abalingi" pulses with the hypnotic drive of funky organ riffs, reminiscent of the blind visionary Ammar El Sheriyi, creating a sound both cinematic and undeniably catchy. The delicate lyrics by Khairi Fouad place the track firmly in the lineage of the Middle East's most iconic pop divas, from Angham to Nawal El-Zoughbi who he subsequently wrote for. This reissue, lovingly remastered, brings this long-lost gem back to life, where it belongs -- spinning on turntables, teasing dance floors, and transporting listeners to Egypt in the late sixties. Adel Osman's "Oriental Eyes" captures the essence of the '60s Egyptian Franco-Arab movement, blending Western (often jazz) influences with Arabic melodies to mesh mystique with sensuality. Osman's commanding yet delicate vocals deliver the bilingual lyrics with captivating sincerity, his voice effortlessly gliding over the swells of the arrangement. The trumpet, possibly connecting him to Zaki Osman of Salah Ragab's legendary Cairo Jazz Band, adds a layer of flair, enriching the track's Tarantino-esque eclecticism. Now remastered, "Oriental Eyes" is not only a nostalgic gem but a timeless reminder of the boundary-defying spirit that defined the 1960s musical landscape. Given the ongoing war efforts against Israel, this record wasn't pressed by Sono Cairo till much later in 1975 once Egypt had recaptured the Sinai and restored national pride.

TEWFIK, MAGGID Zamaan Ya Sukkar - Mazzika Nicab 7"
Maggid Tewfik's "Mazzika Nicab" Parts 1 and 2. Released in 1973, Mazzika Nicab by Egyptian film director and iconic figure Maggid Tewfik is a trippy instrumental journey into the experimental realms of baladi music. Known for his prolific career as a director and DOP in over 30 Coptic films, Tewfik's composition, split in two parts, presents a moody yet undeniably cheeky tune that is unlike anything found in Egyptian music over the ages. The track is a hypnotic blend of Eastern rhythms and Latin grooves, featuring an early drum machine that guides the track through its jubilant and stormy atmosphere. This mechanical beat is paired with funky garage sounds, creating a psychedelic fusion that evokes images of an epic cinematic score, where belly dance meets the raw energy of late-'60s experimental rock. Belly-dance sci-fi perhaps.

KOLETZKI, OLIVER 12 2LP
Oliver Koletzki releases twelfth studio album, 12. The beautifully crafted twelve-track opus is out via Stil vor Talent. 12 is a deeply considered, emotionally rich long-player that marks the next chapter in a career spanning more than two decades at the forefront of electronic music. Serving as both a milestone and a manifesto, 12 distils Koletzki's evolving sound into its most refined form yet. Across twelve tracks, the album explores atmosphere, restraint and emotional clarity, balancing slow-burning club energy with introspective storytelling. It's a record shaped by experience, patience and an unwavering attention to detail; qualities that have long defined Koletzki's output as both an artist and a label curator. The journey begins with album opener "Petrichor," a quietly powerful introduction built around wistful organ chords that gradually unfold into a warm, hypnotic groove. Acting as the album's emotional threshold, the track sets the tone for what follows: music that rewards immersion, thrives on nuance and unfolds with deliberate pace. From there, 12 moves seamlessly between introspective moments and more direct dance floor statements, always guided by Koletzki's unmistakable melodic sensibility. As a whole, 12 feels purposeful and cohesive, guided by a clear narrative arc rather than fleeting trends. It reflects the maturity of an artist with nothing left to prove, yet still driven by curiosity and a desire to evolve. Much like Koletzki's previous albums, 12 stands as a self-contained world, inviting listeners to step inside and stay. Released on Stil vor Talent, the album also reinforces the label's ethos of artistic freedom, quality and long-term vision. Now over 20 years strong, the imprint continues to shape contemporary electronic music while remaining deeply rooted in underground culture: a balance Koletzki himself has embodied throughout his career.

NAKAYAMA, EIJI Aya's Samba LP
2026 repress. Johnny's Disk record is an independent jazz label, run by the owner of jazz cafe Kaiunbashi No Johnny located in Rikuzentakata City in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. The legendary label released a string of albums of high-quality, but down-to-earth music, spanning from modern jazz, avant-garde jazz to left-field pop. Albums such as Farewell My Johnny / Left Alone (1980) and Aya's Samba (1978) have reached cult status among fans as some of the best works to come out of the Japanese jazz scene. The Japanese jazz classic, Aya's Samba, was a debut effort by bassist Eiji Nakayama, who played as part of Elvin Jones' Jazz Machine and toured with Don Friedman. This album is an important release in the Johnny's Disk catalog, not only because it is the first ever release, but also because the owner hearing the band play was the reason why the label came to be. Aya's Samba is a mellow jazz samba in minor key that's considered a Japanese jazz classic. Slow ballad "Yellow Living" is drenched in melancholy with emotive keys and sax notes.

PENNY ARCADE Double Exposure CD
Double Exposure isn't a departure, necessarily, but this new album contains some of the rawest and most deconstructed sounds that James Hoare -- of Veronica Falls, Ultimate Painting and Proper Ornaments -- has recorded to date. Principally, and for the first time, the guitars take a back seat. It's not a "no guitar" concept album by any means; it's mostly just the way it came together. It would also be inaccurate to suggest the guitars have been banished altogether, especially after the dual six-string solo that rips through the speakers on the mighty album opener Regrets. Following 2024's gorgeous Backwater Collage debut LP under the Penny Arcade nom de plume, this is a hallucinogenic experience, and the backbone of Double Exposure is the drum machine that informed the songs. It's also an album of sweet duality. The album features flashes of guest appearances, but for the vast majority it is an album of solo experimentalism, with gestations that bubble to life across the stereo before fading back out again. The drum machines take center stage, playing out like In Rainbows-era Radiohead channeled through Silver Apples, a trip in three minutes that you can play on an infinite loop. Like so much of the album, it was recorded almost instantaneously, with a simplicity and rawness that heavy overdubs and meticulous arrangements could never achieve. It is an album high on vibe. Clicking drum machines and oozing organs interplay with different hues of guitar work, from the ragas of the George Harrison-esque "Early Morning" to the tripped-out, smoke-drenched "We Used to Be Good Friends." Double Exposure is an unfussy collection of songs. The album harks somewhere between the restless experimentation of Syd Barrett and the uninhibited analogue innovations of Tim Presley as White Fence. It very much is what it is.

PENN, DAN Smoke Filled Room (Black Vinyl) LP
LP version. "Co-writer of such classic country, soul and pop classics such as 'Do Right Woman,' 'Cry Like a Baby,' 'I'm Your Puppet,' 'Out of Left Field,' and 'Dark End of The Street,' Dan Penn spends his time these days retrieving, dusting off, and occasionally releasing lost gems from his many songwriting sessions. Having made only a handful of albums over the course of his long career, his demo session recordings have become legendary primarily because of the versatility and range of his voice, and its ability to sell a song. They have long been sought after by enthusiasts and collectors, and more and more of these tracks have seen the light of day over the past decade. This new compilation, curated by Penn himself, begins with the title track, 'Smoke Filled Room,' an unheard signature classic which could have been written in the heyday of Memphis and Muscle Shoals, before it runs the table from straight up southern gospel to blues and power ballads. Through it all, as always, Penn's voice delivers -- and how."

ART PROGRAMMING Art Programming LP
The Outer Edge are excited to working with Art P/Art Programming by finally offering the first full-length work from this Bremen-based electronic group. Originally released only on cassette in 1983, the self-titled album has now been fully restored and remastered, complete with bonus tracks and unreleased mixes unearthed from a rare demo. The LP opens with "Wesen vom anderen Stern" ("Beings from Another Planet"), a downtempo, 808-driven electro synth wave track with German lyrics telling a story of aliens capturing earth, becoming the new "Herren" (lords), while humans are reduced to mere "objects." Art Programming founding member Jens-Markus Wegener notes that this track has always been a favorite during live performances, and it's easy to imagine how the futuristic sounds would have blown people away at the time. On "That's Me," the album welcomes singer Claudia Roebke. Although it's an electronic composition, Roebke adds a rock-infused, almost psychedelic vibe to the song. The lyrics, written by Wegener, depict a person obsessed with their appearance, using irony to critique societal beauty norms, questioning the obsession with perfection and attraction. "Genscher Pull 'N' Push" is an incredible electro/wave/proto-techno track recorded in October 1982 with a political edge. Originally omitted from the album, it was only available on the original demo cassette. The album closes with "Light and Fire," which originally served as the album's opening track. Its quirky, upbeat vibe now makes for a fitting outro. The gear used on this album reads like a dream list for early '80s electronic music production: Roland Jupiter 4, TR 808, TB 303, System 100, SVC 350, Korg Mono/Poly, Moog Prodigy, FRICKE-Sequenzer, Roland CSQ-100 Sequenzer, Coron DS-8, MM 12/2, Sony TC 399, TEAC-244 Portastudio, Ibanez DM 1000, EH-Electric Mistress, EV-Micro. The album is released as a very limited edition of 300 copies on transparent red vinyl, complete with a full picture sleeve and lyrics inlay. This is yet another rediscovered and restored '80s gem on our label that you definitely don't want to miss!

ROUSAY, CLAIRE The Bloody Lady CD
Electroacoustic composer claire rousay (US) presents her new album, The Bloody Lady, featuring the reimagined score she wrote for Viktor Kubal's 1980 eponymous animated film. Kubal (1923-1997), a pioneering Slovak animator, is considered one of the most influential animation filmmakers of the 20th century. Known as a singular artist who challenges conventions in experimental and ambient music forms, rousay crafted the score in her home studio immediately after moving to LA over the course of 2023. The inaugural performance, a screening of the film accompanied by rousay performing the score live, took place at Videodroom / Film Fest Gent 2023 in Ghent, Belgium. The project has since been developed into an 11-track album with alternating themes that evoke the film's atmosphere while standing on its own as a distinct sonic work. Based on the lurid folk tale of Elisabeth Bathory (1560-1614), the trippy Slovak animated film The Bloody Lady follows the story of a Slovak noblewoman. Accused of murdering hundreds of girls and women. Her murderous motive: hoping to remain eternally young, she allegedly bathed in their blood. Central to both the film and rousay's score is the heart and its rhythmic pulse. Much like the story itself, her compositions are whimsical, with subtle hints of looming menace. As this underlying tension lingers in the background, the score incorporates everyday sounds and nature recordings to evoke an ethereal yet unsettling atmosphere. To create these emotive textures, rousay primarily relied on a blend of granular VST synths, piano, pitched-down violin, and an array of field recordings. In a twist of serendipity claire mentions she had been traveling around Hungary and had actually visited the castle of Elisabeth Bathory a full year before being commissioned to work on the new score. She had made some field recordings there, in both the forests and around the site and randomly recorded the ambiance in a local bar. All these sounds have found their way as foliage into the live soundtrack. The Bloody Lady marks an unexpected new chapter in Rousay's blossoming career, demonstrating her ability to apply her delicate melodic sensibility and meticulous attention to detail to the medium of film. This score becomes a deeply personal and heartfelt project, casting new light on Viktor Kubal's more-than-40-year-old magnum opus and helping it regain the recognition it deserves.

EISENBERG, WENDY Its Shape Is Your Touch LP
Warehouse find, last copies of this 2018 release. Wendy Eisenberg is an extraordinary guitarist dedicated to the completely unconstrained exploration of music, language and time. Her work has taken her from conservatory to DIY space to concert hall, from performing improvised music and punk-metal to writing the quietest of songs. On Its Shape is Your Touch, Eisenberg turns her gaze to the guitar in its most absolute, essential form. Having traversed musical genres as she has, the intricate improvisations she weaves on this record have as much to do with the vast history and musical conventions that she chooses to leave out as the sounds she chooses to play. In the process Eisenberg invents a vibrant, fiercely unique language all her own. The artist in her own words: "The title Its Shape is Your Touch, from the final line the Richard Brautigan poem 'Here is something beautiful,' is one-half of the thesis of this record. The other, the absent antithesis, comes from the William Gaddis novel The Recognitions: 'you can change a line without touching it.' The shape of the guitar is the context for the sounds it makes; your touch activates this machine, alters, creates and transforms its possibilities. The shape is created and outlined by the touch, but it contains absence, undefined space. In my music, the lines change with and without physical touch: my touch creates the sound, but those sounds expand, contract, rotate, and dance as I re-establish and constantly evolve the contexts and boundaries of this world. This record has to do with absence, the spaces and movements implied by the lines of a sketch and the other worlds that choice of representation chooses to ignore. I want to let linearity be not a crutch but a device for intelligent travel through musical space. I like to think of these recordings as a gentle exorcism. Recorded in a year of significant, deep loss, it is hard for me not to hear this record as a kind of metamorphosis, a blood-letting, a culling and casting of musical and personal values. This music is reflection on loss and implication: a bluessless blues."

Most tracks here are making their debut outside of Japan and the album, like its predecessors, has been designed by Manuel Sepulveda (Optigram) and is annotated by DJ Notoya. The audio has been newly mastered in Tokyo by Nippon Columbia Records and remastered for vinyl by Colorsound in Paris. Tokyo Pulse's lush funk selection open with the nocturnal groove of Naomi Chiaki's "Yoru E Isogu Hito," recorded in 1978. The track perfectly sets the mood with its laid-back tempo and late-night atmosphere. From there, Yumi Murata's "Ranhansha" (1979) brings a funkier touch, before the mellower funk of L-E-V-E-L's "Bagdad No Atari Nite" signals the stylistic shift toward the early 1980s. Side one closes with GAM's "Lake In The Forest," an elegant reggae-inflected piece from 1980, played by several musicians from the cult Arakawa Band. Side two opens with a leap into the late 1980s via Nami Shimada's "Mitsumeteirunoni," a superb mid-tempo electro-funk track. This is followed by the earthy folk-soul of Bread & Butter's "Memory," originally released in 1974 on Blow Up Records, and featuring a who's who of Japanese music, including Haruomi Hosono, Ray Ohara, Tatsuo Hayashi, and Shigeru Suzuki. Keyboardist Minoru Koyama's instrumental "After Image" adds a cinematic, fusion-leaning dimension, while Chikara Ueda & The Power Station's "Island Cuckoo," released in 1979 on Denon, injects a cool dose of Brazilian-tinged funk energy. The compilation closes with Higurashi's superb funk-folk track "Anata Wa Doko Ni Irundesuka," a reflective 1974 recording that brings the journey to a quietly emotional conclusion. Taken as a whole, Tokyo Pulse offers a vivid snapshot of Tokyo's evolving groove landscape, embracing a wide diversity of sounds that move fluidly between funk, modern soul, folk, reggae, electro, and jazz-inflected pop. Carefully curated by DJ Notoya, the album captures the subtle shifts in style, production, and mood that defined nearly fifteen years of Japanese music and stands as a new addition to Wewantsounds' ongoing series exploring Japan's rich musical heritage, reaffirming Tokyo's place as a city with a uniquely refined and forward-thinking musical pulse.

SAKAMOTO, RYUICHI Thousand Knives Of Ryuichi Sakamoto LP
2026 repress. LP version. Wewantsounds present a reissue of Ryuichi Sakamoto's first solo album Thousand Knives Of, originally released in 1978 on the sought-after Better Days label. Save for a small-scale release in 1982, this is the first time the album is being released on vinyl outside of Japan. 1978 was a key year for Japanese music. Haruomi Hosono, one of the country's most innovative musicians had just formed Yellow Magic Orchestra pursuing the sonic experimentation he had started with his solo album Paraiso. The album, recorded between December '77 and January '78, featured both Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi. Hosono quickly invited both musicians to form YMO but before the group could release their first album, Sakamoto entered the Nippon Columbia studios in April 1978 with a plan. Sakamoto had become an in-demand session musician after studying composition at the Tokyo University of Art and had played on many key albums of the time, such as Taeko Ohnuki's Sunshower (1977) and Tatsuro Yamashita Spacy (1977). This led to an invitation by Hosono to feature on Paraiso. A penchant for avant-garde and improvisation had gotten Sakamoto interested in electronic music early on, and with Thousand Knives he decided to get Hideki Matsutake on board as he had mastered the art of synth programming following a stint with Electronic Music pioneer Isao Tomita. Thousand Knives took several months to record as Sakamoto would be busy during the day with his session work and would only record at night. Named after Belgian-born poet Henri Michaux's description of a mescaline experience, the album is a reflection on how synthesizer technology might come to change the face of music. The first side conceived as a long suite opens with the title track and a recitation of the Mao Zedong poem "Jinggang Mountain" filtered through a vocoder, before morphing into a mid-tempo synthpop instrumental. It is followed by "Island Of Woods", a ten-minute track buzzing with insect-like synth sounds. Side one ends with "Grasshoppers", a beautiful acoustic piano melody underlined by a subtle synthesizer soundscape. Side two opens with "Das Neue Japanische Elektronische Volkslied", acknowledging the influence of the German sound spearheaded by Kraftwerk. The track features a mid-tempo metronomic beat skillfully intertwined with a Japanese folk sounding melody. The album ends with two catchy up-tempo synthpop tunes in the form of "Plastic Bamboo" and "The End Of Asia", which both became staples of YMO's and Sakamoto's live shows. YMO's sound included various influences from its three members but there is no denying Thousand Knives paved the way for the group's Computer Music sound. Remastered from the original tapes by renowned producer and engineer Seigen Ono.

FAIRUZ Maarifti Feek LP
2026 repress.. Following the reissue last year of Fairuz's classic 1979 album Wahdon (WWSLP 022LP), Wewantsounds pursue their exploration of great Lebanese music with the first vinyl reissue of Fairuz's highly sought-after LP Maarifti Feek, originally released in 1987. Recorded in Beirut around 1983-84, the album features the diva's superb voice combined with Ziad Rahbani's jazz and funk orchestration, making it one of the most in-demand albums on the Arabic funk scene. One of the greatest singers of the Middle East, Fairuz started her career in Lebanon in the '50s and quickly established herself as the most renowned Diva in the Arabic world, playing the most prestigious venues in the world. At the end of the '70s, Fairuz was at a turning point both professionally and personally. Her husband Assi Rahbani, who, with his brother Elias, had penned her biggest successes, has suffered a stroke a few years earlier. This setback ultimately led to both the demise of their marriage and the end of their professional partnership. Enter Ziad Rahbani, Fairuz and Assi's son, a young musician, playwright, and producer who had cut his teeth writing a handful of Fairuz's song -- including her 1973 hit "Sa'alouni El Nas" -- at just seventeen. Ziad Rahbani swiftly took over from his father and uncle as the singer's musical director and composer and this fruitful association, which started in 1979 with the album Wahdon, broke many new grounds for Fairuz with funkier rhythms and edgier lyrics. It was recorded at the same time as Rahbani's own 12" Abu Ali (WWSLP 027LP) which became a sought-after disco classic in its own right. The association between the two continued with a second album, Maarifti Feek ("Our Encounter"), recorded between 1983 and '84 in Beirut but only released in 1987. The album was another groundbreaking mix of influences ranging from the traditional arrangements of "Oudak Rannan" and "Ma Kdirt Nseet" to the Brazilian flavor of "Version 1" via the synth funk of "Ouverture 83" and its follow-up "Reprise 83". Also featured on the album is a beautiful remake of Joaquin Rodrigo's "Concerto de Aranjuez" in the form of a tribute to the Lebanese capital, "Li Beirut." This blend of Oriental grooves with jazz and funk orchestrations by Ziad Rahbani is a unique document of Fairuz's career development in the '80s and explains why Maarifti Feek is such a sought-after album. Remastered from the original tapes.

GENTLE PEOPLE, THE Soundtracks For Living (Expanded Edition) 3LP
WRWTFWW Records presents The Gentle People's Soundtracks for Living (Expanded Edition), the ultimate lounge/chill out classic from 1997, reborn! Available as a limited-edition white vinyl 3LP in heavyweight 3-panel gatefold sleeve. When The Gentle People first glided into the mid-'90s on clouds of strings, sugar and sine waves, they sounded like visitors from another, more glamorous planet. Signed to Richard D. James and Grant Wilson-Claridge's cult label Rephlex, this multinational "E-Z-Core" lounge unit took the aesthetics of '50s/'60s easy listening and exotica and gently smuggled them into 1990s club culture. Soundtracks for Living was their defining statement: an album that "takes the lounge scene and runs away with it entirely -- blissful and heavenly," as one contemporary review put it. The Gentle People -- Dougee Dimensional, Laurie LeMans, Valentine Carnelian and Honeymink -- began in early-'90s Brixton, throwing dress-up theme parties before taking their audio-visual universe into the studio. For them, music was "a way of life": soothing to the ear, rich in pop hooks, and pitched somewhere between the playfully idiotic and the hyper-intelligent. This expanded edition of Soundtracks for Living finally gives this glambient lounge-pop milestone the treatment it has always deserved. Spread lovingly across 3LP, it features new mastering from the original sources, allowing every harp glissando, string swell and analog squiggle to float in high-fidelity widescreen. The core album is complemented by a bonus 12" of unreleased and rare material, offering a deeper dive into the Gentle world: alternate takes, lost interludes, and secret soundtrack cues for lives not yet lived. Crucially, "Journey" appears here in its original version, "Gentle Instrumental" and the cult Aphex Twin remix, reuniting band and labelmate in one place and underlining the quietly radical nature of the project: this was lounge music that could sit next to braindance, acid and IDM and still steal the scene. Pressed on limited edition white vinyl, Soundtrack for Living (Expanded Edition) invites long-time fans and new listeners alike to step back into The Gentle People's universe -- a place of fondue parties, bubble chairs, star-lit elevators and endlessly rewinding sunsets, where "the pathway to the stars" is never quite out of reach.
