JESHI Airbag Woke Me Up LP
Back in December 2016, Jeshi fell asleep whilst driving home from a party at 5am, and he crashed into a park car, only to be woken up by the airbag exploding in his face. This is the inspiration for album two. The new album is a statement of waking up and levelling up from the last period of his life. This is a new era, and full of energy. Jeshi doesn't run away from fire; he runs with it. The East London artist is on a quest to feel alive in every sense. To him, feeling alive means being present in each experience, no matter how challenging. For Jeshi -- who has spent the last few years establishing himself as one of the most exciting voices of his generation -- this is what life and art are all about. Chaos, then, is not something to shy away from, but where great ideas are born. Jeshi's electrifying second album, Airbag Woke Me Up is a collection of moment-capturing songs built to ignite reactions and start conversations. His scene-stealing jaunts to stages worldwide clearly influence its live-wire sound, as Jeshi and his cohorts smash through moods and tempos like kids let loose on funfair dodgems. "I want to make things that have intent and feel like statements," Jeshi declares. His versatile voice is the conductive thread that pulls everything together. "On Universal Credit, my voice was used in one way, whereas on this it's used in ten ways," he notes. Airbag Woke Me Up is an exploration into what happens when you emerge from tough times, and how they encourage you to view the world a little differently. It's bolder in ambition and built from renewed energy. Chaotic, but in the very best way. "In my head, this is the real arrival chapter," states Jeshi. "The 'I am here, I've arrived' moment." Featuring Leilah, Chassol, Saint?, Elijah Waters, Fredwave, Louis Culture, and J.Caesar.

PSYCH FI'S, THE Can Con LP
Can Con, the debut album from the enigmatic Canadian collective The Psych Fi's, comes via Bobo Integral. The group is an offshoot of Canadian singer-songwriter Jerry Leger's rock 'n' roll side project, The Del Fi's. Just as The Psych Fi's describe themselves as "spontaneous psychedelic rock," The Del Fi's recorded two albums characterized by spontaneity, spirit, and trust. This time Leger brings his songs to a revolving door of musicians and singers (18 members, including Jerry, in the case of Can Con). Most of the performers have not heard these compositions before recording them. They have no chance to second-guess; they must be fearless and jump in with both feet. Recorded live in a haunted Toronto studio on a cold January 2024 day by fellow "Fi" Aaron Goldstein (Espanola, Kathleen Edwards, Daniel Romano), Can Con captures a moment in time (which is relative). Leger acts as a sort of loose conductor, allowing certain soloists to emerge from the musical collage. Listeners will get lost in "Summer's Right Around the Corner", which also features Don Stevenson (founding member of the legendary '60s psychedelic rock band Moby Grape) on backing vocals, alongside Kate Boothman (Katie Cruel) and Angie Hilts. This sound has evolved out of Del Fi performances, specifically when musicians Nichol Robertson, Jason Kenemy, Dave Clark (The Rheostatics, Woodshed Orchestra), and Michael Eckert were involved. Leger and these "Fi's" eagerly ventured down less-traveled roads to destinations unknown. Other Psych Fi's include Ken Yoshioka, Matthew Cooke, Les Armstrong, Chris Bennett, Shawn Clarke, Katie Methot, and members of Jerry Leger & The Situation (Dan Mock, Kyle Sullivan, Alan Zemaitis).

DROPKICK Primary Colours LP
Hailing from the East Coast of Scotland, Dropkick have carved out a reputation for their lush, harmony-driven power pop, drawing comparisons to the likes of Wilco, The Jayhawks, Teenage Fanclub, and Tom Petty. Their music effortlessly blends melody and introspection, making them a mainstay in the indie music scene for well over a decade. Having previously released acclaimed records on Bobo Integral in 2014 (Homeward) and 2020 (The Scenic Route), Dropkick is returning to the label for their new album Primary Colours, a collection of songs that showcases the band's continuing evolution. Primary Colours marks a new chapter in Dropkick's career, following on from the success of The Wireless Revolution (2023). The album features ten meticulously crafted tracks that blend power-pop, indie rock, and folk influences. Themes of love, loss, and the inevitable passage of time permeate the songs, each rich with harmony and lyrical depth. The album kicks off with "Left Behind," a soaring anthem that sets the tone for the record. The title track, "Primary Colours," captures the album's essence with vibrant, evocative melodies. The schooldays nostalgia of "Dreams Expire" offers a haunting, introspective moment, while tracks like "Too Much of the Same" explore the repetitiveness of life and relationships with a reflective, yet infectious energy. Recorded at their long-time rehearsal space at Inch House, Edinburgh, Primary Colours was produced by Andrew Taylor (frontman and principal songwriter) and features a polished yet authentic sound. The production highlights the band's signature harmonies and multi-instrumental talents while retaining the raw energy of their live performances. Taylor, also known for his work with cult indie-pop band The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness and as long-term producer of the renowned Scottish country band, The Wynntown Marshals, continues to hone his craft as a songwriter and producer.

VA Ambientale (Compiled by Charles Bals) CD
Collector, seeker and storyteller Charles Bals brings his curatorial finesse to Hamburg's Bureau B with Ambientale, a journey into otherworldly sounds from the years 1983-2000. Drifting effortlessly between digital exoticism, mellow fusion, new age groove and library electronics, the pieces range from largely obscure to utterly un-google-able, and coalesce into a stunning soundtrack to tranquil seas, desert sand and starlit skies. Cinematic and enigmatic, Ambientale is a stranger you've only just met but can't stop thinking about. A familiar face to those who dwell in the deep end of the record pool, Charles is an obsessive digger, always on the track of an otherwise unheard sound. Through two trips to "Club Meduse" and star-crossed lovers "America Dream Reserve" and "Black Rain," he's also established himself as a mixtape auteur, weaving together the strange and beautiful into evocative compilations that transport listeners to distinct, imaginative realms. While his previous sets resembled Super-8 vignettes, populated by sun-kissed hedonists and drifting outsiders, Ambientale sees Charles leave the human world behind, exploring all the world's wilderness on the scale of an IMAX epic. Bals opens his sonic travelogue with the bamboo flutes and resonant gongs of esteemed Italian maestro Luigi Ceccarelli, joined by the clean lines and Eastern tonalities of the little-known Ran?Boru. The journey deepens with a double-feature from Tokyo composer Akira Mitake, sliding from dreamy New Age soundscapes into the lush groove of floral fusion. Digital rhythms and snaking bass add a Latin accent to the bouzouki of Individual Sensitivity's "Greece Ambientale," while the lilting percussion and shimmering synths of Steve Shehan's smooth jazz rarity "Evening In The Sahara" segue perfectly into a masterpiece of French Balearic from Private Joke. A smoky saxophone rises like mist, echoing through the rainfall on Adriano Maria Vitali's "Velvet Blue Circles," before Masami Tsuchiya pulls listeners into the depths with the aquatic ambience of 1983's "Never Mind," its electronic palette the perfect vehicle to ensure that Akira Mitake's "Spectrum" surprises, rather than startles, with its booming machine drums a superb point of difference. From there, we wander once more into the digital undergrowth, exploring the mystical and magical sounds of the Italian library ensemble Gruppo Sound, along with a rare glimpse of Blue Note new age from Gil Mell?. Police sirens and street noise signal our return to the city, forming the backdrop to the tumbling drums and moody electronic stabs of "Ship Out" by Ferris Wheel, an utterly unknown piece rumored to be a promotional track from a Venezuelan garbage company -- the final twist of intrigue to this otherworldly voyage.

YELLOWMAN & FATHEAD Divorced! (For Your Eyes Only) LP
"Yellowman, also known as King Yellowman, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall DJ known for his distinctive voice and catchy lyrics. He rose to prominence in the 1980s and became one of the most popular dancehall artists of that era. Yellowman's style often incorporates elements of humor, boastfulness, and social commentary. Born Winston Foster in 1956 in Kingston, Jamaica, Yellowman faced challenges from a young age due to being an albino, but he overcame these obstacles to become a highly successful musician. He gained attention for his 'toasting' style, which involves rhythmic chanting over reggae and dancehall beats. Some of Yellowman's most famous songs include 'Zungguzungguguzungguzeng,' 'Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt,' and 'Mr. Chin.' His music often addresses social issues as well as themes of love, partying, and his own experiences. Yellowman's impact on dancehall music and Jamaican culture is significant, and he remains an influential figure in the genre to this day. This iconic 180-gram yellow vinyl, including sleeve notes released on Burning Sounds, captures Yellowman in combination with his sparring partner Vernon Rainford, better known as Fathead, and captures Yellowman at the height of his powers. This re-issue of Divorced! (For Your Eyes Only) is released on 180-gram limited edition yellow vinyl, and includes an insert with comprehensive sleeve notes."

VICEROYS, THE This World 7"
"Killer tune produced by Sly & Robbie at Channel 1 in the early '80s. Never released at the time, but it was played by some sounds on dubplate and has become hunted by steel seekers ever since. Great lyrics and the early Taxi trademark spare, heavy mix elevates this tune to something more. Warning for the punters, this is mastered from dubplate -- loud and raw."

VA In The Mood: Little John's Romantic Label 1986-1990 LP
"Ten-song compilation LP featuring Jughead, Dutch Man, Little John, Frankie Paul, Little Chukie, Prince Oret, Lee Crystal, Early B, Baker B. Little John is one of the most loved and prolific '80s dancehall artists. He started as a child artist in 1979 and by the mid-1980s had recorded for every major producer. In 1984 at age 14 he already knew the ropes of the business and started to produce 45s on his own Romantic label, which he continued sporadically releasing tunes on up until 1993. This is one of the coolest looking labels of the latter 1980s, and has a handful of hard to find killer 45s, mostly obscure and mostly slept on. So naturally Digikiller needed to corral these for another all killer no filler compilation. True to his own roots, Little John's label mostly features fresh youthman artists, though a handful of veterans, like Frankie Paul and Early B who are both featured here, also recorded for him. The ten songs on this comp are favorites from the label, featuring a selection of killer rhythms spanning the heavy mid-'80s style, the proper late-'80s digital style, and the more uptempo early-'90s style. Hardcore DKR heads take note -- this features three cuts on that most hallowed 1987 digi rhythm."

BROWN, LENNOX Danger Zone 7"
"Another one from Lloydie Slim, this time on his Ivanhoe the Conqueror label. This is the horns cut of his killer lick of drum song, by sax man Lennox Brown. A different mix of this was released on the flip side of the New York pressing of Tappa Zukie's cut, where it was titled Ivanhoe Strikes Again. This mix, with its dub version, were put to tape for a single release titled Danger Zone which never happened at the time in the late-'70s. Another previously unreleased heater, now you can play this one alongside the other cuts of this rhythm appearing on the Record Smith compilation albums."

AITKEN & THE CARIB BEATS W/ LLOYD & GLEN, BOBBY Keep On Pushing/Soul Special 7"
"Time for the second release in this series with the super OG, Mr. Bobby Aitken. Bobby and his band the Carib Beats produced a whole lot of stuff for release thru WIRL back in the late-'60s. One of the best is this great rocksteady adaptation of Curtis' classic 'Keep On Pushing,' with Lloyd (Robinson) and Glen (Brown) on vocals. On the flip side of this is one of the rarest Carib Beats tunes, titled 'Soul Special.' This is a cool instrumental with some charming flute playing, only ever released as the flip of 'Crying Time', a brutally rare 45 that only exists in tiny numbers as a UK test pressing, never making it to full release."

LINDO, HOPETON Tribute 7"
"A special moment here with this one. This record has it all -- one of the best rhythms of the entire '80s let alone the early digital canon, laced with lasers, killer synths, dive bombs, vocoder, screeching across the border, militant lyrics, gigantic drums, perfect claps, the list goes on and on. An absolutely perfect record for the period and for the ages. Hopeton Lindo lets loose an awesome vocal -- his salute to the heroes and martyrs of the militant struggle against South African apartheid -- Benjamin Moloise, Stephen Biko and of course Nelson Mandela. If you don't know, read up on these men ASAP. This tune was made at Tubby's on a wild mix of the original King Tubby's tempo riddim, and was originally released on the very short-lived Aqua label due to some producer runnings back in the day. Now recut from the original master tape, this is one of those joyous occasions where this new issue actually sounds better than the original, which suffered from being made at the notoriously quality plagued GG's pressing plant. Fans of late '80s digital and militant reggae take note - this is your perfect storm. A long time searching for this one, finally here."

INVADERS Floating Around In The Sun 1970-1974 LP
"We are overjoyed to present this album, another one from our bucket list and another one to set the record straight and illuminate the history of another much loved, but until now mysterious group. The Invaders made some of our all-time favorite records -- back in 2013 we issued five 45's of their brilliant, sometimes plaintive, sometimes hopeful and sweet early roots music. Their sound touches folk and gospel in lovely subtle ways that elevate them above the many harmony groups of the early roots reggae era. Since the start of DKR we were striving to learn more about the group -- and despite being able to license a portion of their output for reissue, and get anecdotes about them here and there, we were never able to connect with the group themselves. But we never gave up asking about them, and finally in 2024 we were able to link with Delroy 'Bongo Pat' Forde, the surviving member of the group. Unfortunately other Invader, Lloyd 'Paddy' Campbell passed on several years back. To hear and learn their full story, you need to check out this album and read the liner notes. This 13-song LP corrals much of their output -- some of the tracks we previously issued but have been long out of press, some more never before reissued, and some great related solo works by the duo. And to cap it all off we've added two new voicings on a couple of our favorite vintage rhythms, by Invader Bongo Pat himself, live in 2024, singing two Invaders songs written way back in the early 1970s but never recorded back then. All together this is a long overdue document of one of the 1970s finest groups and one dear to our heart. LP comes with double sided insert sheet of history and photos." --DKR

VICEROYS, THE Don't You Cry 7"
"From the infamous 1980 production run of Sly & Robbie and their Taxi label. Keen followers of the dubplate runnings of yore know that in '80 going into '81, the spare, piledriver sound of Taxi drum and bass at Channel 1 was one of the, if not THE ruling sound on dubplate. Some tunes, like 'Heart Made of Stone' and several Black Uhuru tunes were eventually released on wax and became hits. Others, like 'Warrior' and 'Rocks and Mountains,' never got that far, only unearthed after decades of infamy as dubplates. So to kick off the return to this sound, here's one that was never released and very few ever had the privilege of playing, even on steel. 'Don't You Cry' by the Viceroys is raw, haunting roots with a monster drum and bass workout of a version. Straight from the dub room at 29 Maxfield Avenue to your living room, another DKR special delivery."

FOREST DRIVE WEST Parallel Space EP 12"
2025 repress. Forest Drive West delivers the Parallel Space EP via Copenhagen's Echocord, backed with a remix from Conforce. London's Forest Drive West has gained widespread recognition as a purveyor of raw and emotive techno over the past few years, releasing material on the likes of Livity Sound, Hidden Hawaii, Neighbourhood, and Whities. Here though see him returning to Echocord following his recent remix of Babe Roots on the imprint earlier this year. "Creation Dub" leads, fusing echoing dub chords and off-kilter drums with cavernous atmospherics and pulsating low-end tones before "Drift" edges into darker territories with murky synth textures, glitched-out percussion, and tension building drones creating a hypnotic and subtly nuanced six-and-a-half minutes. Title-track "Parallel Space" then opens the B-side, bring the rhythmic aspects into the spotlight this time as bumpy broken drums, a rounded sub line and oscillating percussion ebb and flow amongst hazy pads, fluttering echoes and expansive reverbs. Conforce's take on "Parallel Space" rounds out the package next and the Delsin regular delivers a typically classy interpretation with choppy bass stabs dynamically driving the composition as snippets of the original's ethereal textures and spiraling percussion are weaved within.

OMAR, ALI Hashish Hits LP
Efficient Space honors the memory of producer and MC Ali Omar with Hashish Hits, a posthumous selection from the dub rebel's self-released discography. One of ten children in working-class Liverpool, Omar drew deep influence from his father's Arabic heritage -- a thread central to his identity and sample origins. After art school and a spell clubbing during Manchester's halcyon days, he relocated to Sydney, where he co-founded the blunted downbeat duo Atone with fellow British expatriate Andy Fitzgerald. As an MC, he infiltrated the city's house, dub, jungle, and bass circuits, becoming a regular fixture at the Bentley Bar, where he commanded the mic with his versatile, rumbling baritone and charisma. Freakishly talented in the studio, Omar was a pioneer of the Akai sampler and Atari, deftly recording live sessions straight to DAT. Drawing on industry insights from his sister, Merseybeat firebrand Beryl Marsden -- who supported The Beatles on their final UK tour and was signed to Decca and Columbia -- the non-conformist sought to build a self-sufficient business model. Between 1998 and 2004, he independently issued four albums on CD through his Hashish Studios imprint, hustling copies directly to local record stores and live shows for instant returns, even hand-sewing screen-printed hessian sleeves for his final release. Uncompromising in his principles and refusing to suffer fools or charlatans, Omar relished the opportunity to collaborate with those who embodied the same spirit. Hashish Hits offers a snapshot of his inner sanctum -- Fitzgerald on the opening track's billowing smoke stacks, the serpentine vocals of Gina Mitchell and the magic hands of mixer Louis Mitchell on "On Release," and Wicked Beat Sound System's Kye on "Poor Man Beggar Man Thief." Meanwhile, "Suicide Bomber" smolders with the tension of a lost Muslimgauze relic, as the instructional "Roll Up" and "The Last Straw" spiral deeper into Omar's signature production vortex -- where space stretches in slow motion and walls reverberate with ricocheting delay. A true icon of Sydney's underground scene, the larger-than-life Omar passed away on 23 June 2009 after a valiant battle with cancer. He is remembered for his assertive spirit, larrikin humor, wild anarchic personality, and enduring mantra: "Love and live your life."

ONILU Onilu LP
Onilu is an all-percussionist trio utilizing the extensive family of drummed and tuned percussion instruments to deliver beautifully composed, arranged and executed small ensemble music. Nothing about this all-percussion band feels rarified, or missing anything musical. To the contrary, Onilu create a soundworld where nothing is missing, and everything is musical -- defying the stereotype of modern percussion ensembles as esoteric or academic pursuits, reaffirming the powerful social and sacred musics made in African diasporic communities and across cultures by drum and percussion groups since the beginning of human time. The members of Onilu are: Kevin Diehl, leader of the enduring Philadelphia-based Afro-Cuban Yoruba free-jazz ensemble Sonic Liberation Front; Chad Taylor, Artistic Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and esteemed drummer of long standing in many scenes. Highlights of Taylor's recent history include his work with James Brandon Lewis, Jaimie Branch, Marc Ribot, Rob Mazurek, and with Joshua Abrams in the duo Mind Maintenance-. Taylor was part of the community of young Chicago-based musicians organized around Fred Anderson's Velvet Lounge in the 1990s that included Abrams, Nicole Mitchell, Jeff Parker, and Matana Roberts, among others; living legend Joe Chambers, who began his illustrious career as the drummer on now-canonical early Blue Note recordings by Andrew Hill, Bobby Hutcherson, Sam Rivers, Wayne Shorter, and Mccoy Tyner. A 1970 founding member of Max Roach's pathbreaking percussion ensemble M'Boom, Chambers continues to record percussion-centered music as a leader for Blue Note records. After nearly three decades working with such historic drummers as Denis Charles, Walter Perkins, Sunny Murray, Hamid Drake, Milford Graves, Susie Ibarra, Charles Bobo Shaw, and Han Bennink, it is Eremite Records' joy and honor to give the drummers not some, but ALL the spotlight. From Dana Hall's liner notes: "These three artists are master musicians and the music they present here is masterfully conceived. The drum, and its entire global family of membranophones, shakers, and idiophones, are conduits for their collective creative voice. In addition to drummers, they are also composers, and their works here represent a synthesis of ideas, concepts, and their individual dialectics on the language and syntax found in much of African and African Diasporic musics. A music that uses call and response. One that honors the past while looking forward to the future. A music that is principally concerned with feeling, mood, and storytelling. One that eschews frivolity and the baroque. A music that swings and grooves. I found myself dancing to this recording. Trust me, you, too, will find yourself rightfully and unapologetically dancing to this recording." First Eremite edition of 999 copies pressed on premium audiophile-quality 140-gram vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressing, from Kevin Gray/Cohearent audio lacquers. Recorded by Michael Richelle, Philadelphia. Mastered by Joe Lizzi, Queens, NY. Hand screen-printed insert by Alan Sherry, Siwa Studios, Northern New Mexico.

Between boom bap and Krautrock, disco styles, folk references and trip-hop vibes spread out organically. Analogue percussion blurs with '90s sampling sound aesthetics. IGLO Tau 12"
Figure welcomes IGLO to the roster, a promising new talent in techno. With a background in classical music, IGLO began his journey with the renowned Thomanerchor Leipzig before moving on to play guitar in bands. His diverse musical experience informs his unique approach to techno, merging classical influences with modern electronic production. On his debut EP for Figure, IGLO presents a collection of tracks that showcase his skill in blending solid rhythms, deep atmospheres, and rich textures. The opening track, "Neverplace," introduces the EP with dubby chords and rave-inspired vocals, setting a late-night tone with emotional depth. Recovery follows, featuring a groovy bassline and a spoken word sample that enhances the track's immersive feel. In "Tell Me Everything," IGLO moves into snappier rhythms, with looping elements and a distant vocal that adds a mysterious edge. Introspection stands apart with IGLO's own singing voice, paired with analogue rhythms that create a smooth, reflective flow while maintaining steady momentum. IGLO's debut on Figure reflects his ability to merge emotional depth with forward-thinking techno, marking a strong start for this exciting new artist.

ORFEON GAGARIN Orfeon Gagarin & The Supermoon Orchestra LP
Geometrik Records in association with Munster Records presents the new album by Orfeon Gagarin, Miguel A. Ruiz's main project, one of the leading names in experimental music in Spain, a true pioneer of the risky and underground Spanish electronic music scene since the early eighties. Limited edition of 250 copies. In 1986 Miguel A. Ruiz released his first cassette on his own label Toracic Tapes. Since then, he has remained active in the international network of underground electronic music. He has composed many solo albums in all formats, especially on cassette, under different names such as Funeral Souvenir, Exhaustor, Michel Des Airlines, Ventral Metaphor, Orfeon Gagarin, and his own: Miguel A. Ruiz. His first vinyl LP was Encuentros en la Tercera Edad (1991) produced by the German electronics master Asmus Tietchens on his label Hamburger Musikgesellschaft. In the following years, and up to the present day, he has published with other respected international labels like, Old Europa Caf?, Aquarelist, Monochrome Vision, Menstrual Recordings, Abstrakce, and Geometrik Records. Ruiz has also collaborated with musicians all over the world such as Cisfinitum (Codachrom), Siegmar Fricke (Efficient Refineries) Dieter Mauson, Francisco L?pez and Stefano Barban. Ruiz's style is fantastic and surprising, with an imagination that can be considered overwhelming. Science, technology, Soviet space era, Borges, surrealism, clinical pathologies, black humor or extra-planetary life, whatever eccentricity has a place within the microcosm of this artist. His music is considered bizarre, surreal, dark and funny at the same time, using in a very personal and original way very different styles in an amazing and unique universe. After the last two albums as Orfeon Gagarin, he presents a new album: Orfeon Gagarin & The Supermoon Orchestra, which includes eight gems of extraterrestrial electronic pseudo-pop. The perfect music for an intergalactic party, where he shows his fascination of the sonic possibilities of old synthesizers and other analog electronic instruments.

DJ PIERRE What Is House Muzik 12"
This is another vital instalment of Get Physical Music's classic reissue series, which is now scheduled for a vinyl release. It features a track first released in 1994 and was also part of DJ Pierre's Wild Pitch: The Story album back in 2017. It comes with an Emmanuel Satie edit of the Ricardo Villalobos Dub and a stellar remix from South Africa's Jazzuelle, first released in 2017. DJ Pierre's name is forever synonymous with house music, particularly the acid sound he pioneered in the '80s. Staying true to the underground since then, he's consistently released vital tracks, innovated with his Wild Pitch style and now his Afro Acid label. Pierre continues to push boundaries with each new outing while this reissue proves that his earliest works are still some of house music's best ever. "What is House Muzik" is an almost 10-minute masterpiece that's perfectly designed for gritty warehouse spaces and comes complete with an anthemic vocal monologue. It's dark and distorted with monstrous kicks and oversized hi-hats, a frazzled lead synth line and a marching groove that is lit up with strobe-lit details to get hands in the air. The original also comes alongside an acapella version. Next up comes an edit from melodic master Emmanuel Satie, who takes Fellow Ricardo Villalobos's epic 36-minute "What Is Dub" version and splices it into a floor-friendly and perfectly paced seven-and-a-half-minute edit. Originally dropping in 2015, it now sees its way onto vinyl for the first time. Finally, South Africa electronic production don Jazzuelle drops a remix that lives up to its name with a dive into the deeper realms of acid.

PUENTE AND HIS ORCHESTRA, TITO Mambo Gozon: The RCA Years 1949-1960 2LP
A collection with a very specific criterion: to bring together the best songs that exemplify the model of what would later be known as salsa. Tito's sessions at RCA produced the highest quality and sounding recordings of the epoch, and are up to today's sound standards. 24 tracks compiled from the best dancefloor tracks from Tito's golden era that easily adapt to the aesthetics of modern salsa. Featuring: Santos Col?n, Vicentico Vald?s, Alfredito Vald?s, Vit?n Avil?s, Yayo "el Indio," and Tony Molina. Complete liner notes Spanish/English by collector and DJ, Pablo "Bongohead" Yglesias. Format designed for DJ's, collectors and general public. Though it may seem obvious or perhaps even a fool's errand to dedicate a compilation to this theme, since everything Tito recorded was full of "salsa y sabor" (sauce and flavor), it's actually perhaps the first of its kind in that every recording here is specifically chosen for today's salsa dancers, in whichever style they choose to dance, with an emphasis on the guaguanc? rhythm and mambo arrangement. Tito's RCA sessions produced the most high quality, incredible sounding recordings of the epoch, and they more than hold their own by today's sonic standards. For this reason, Grosso has collected two dozen of Tito's finest golden era nuggets for the dance floor, with a concerted emphasis on midtempo numbers with clear percussion patterns that easily fit the modern salsa aesthetic. Many of these tracks, such as "Cuando Te Vea," "Complicaci?n," "Agua Limpia Todo," "Con Sandunga," and "Guaguanc? Margarito" are directly connected to traditional Afro-Cuban rumba or Santer?a rituals through their original composers, rhythm structure, lyrical content and melodies. Indeed, they could all be performed -- and some were -- as strictly percussion and vocal rumbas, but the real difference is what Tito Puente did with the instrumentation, arrangements, vocals and pacing, turning them into the big band extravaganzas that caused "mambo mania," routinely working his audiences into a frenzy on the dance floor.

HOUND DOG TAYLOR Take Five 10"
Theodore "Hound Dog" Taylor was born on April 12, 1917, in Natchez, Mississippi. By day, he was a sharecropper; by night, he played the delta jukes. In 1942, following a dangerous encounter with the Ku Klux Klan, he high-tailed it out of the South to Chicago. There, he held a day job while building his reputation as a musician, performing in South and West Side blues clubs and on the streets. It wasn't until the late '50s that he became a full-time musician, playing regularly at the Expressway Lounge. Taylor developed a raw vocal style and blistering slide guitar technique, using a cheap Teisco Del Rey guitar powered through a Sears Roebuck amplifier. He also had a physical condition called polydactylism, which resulted in an extra finger on each hand. Hound Dog Taylor first recorded in 1960 for Bea and Baby Records, and again in 1962 for the Firma label. The resulting 45s were his only releases during the '60s and these four tracks are included on this record. As a bonus, Jerome Records have added two tracks by Mississippi-born, long-time blues veteran Homesick James, who, after recording several 45s in the early '50s, didn't get another single released until 1962. Both numbers feature Taylor on guitar. He died in December 1975, after releasing four albums on the Alligator label, leaving his own epitaph: "When I die, they'll say, 'He couldn't play shit, but he sure made it sound good!'". Strictly limited edition of 250 copies.

KOHNCKE, JUSTUS Zwei Photonen 12"
20th anniversary re-press. K?hncke rides again with another 12", having two sides that couldn't be more different: the A-Side, "Timecode," is a clock-ticking electronic disco tease promising a joyous release by building up tremendous expectations over its course of eight minutes -- and of course not delivering the final dance floor orgasm since the night has to continue in mutual happiness and expectations on the floor. But well, surely lots of "pre-cum" spreaded. The flip, "The Answer Is Yes," displays K?hncke's love for The Beatles or Prefab Sprout and the like, in a masterly programmed digital simulation of the "played" sound of the likes (K?hncke cannot play any "real instruments" except for a bit of Barr?-Punk-Guitar). It's a love metaphor about two photons in "entanglement," which is a proven psychedelic effect in quantum physics. The photons are "entangled" and "know" each other's "spin" in immediacy, thus not bent to the speed of light, even if they are 100000 light years from each other -- a theory that even Einstein considered absurd when the pioneers of quantum physics came up with this in the 1930s. So Justus put his fascination with quantum physics into a pop love song metaphor -- how much more do you want?

MOLINA, JUANA Exhalo 10"
Halo, the latest studio album by Juana Molina, the experimental Argentine singer who captivates and seduces the world with her unique and unclassifiable songs, produced a unanimous acclaim from the public as well as specialized media. Exhalo closes this key stage in her career, where Juana shows the deep and powerful material that was left out of her last LP. Juana Molina has variously been described as pure genius (Les Inrockuptibles, FR), beguiling (Pitchfork, US), and is said to be one of the most extraordinary singers around (Sunday Times, UK), who is creating a slippery soundtrack for the subconscious and subtle, unclassifiable sonic magic. In 2017 she released her latest studio album, Halo, defined as her finest yet (Pitchfork, US), endlessly bewitching (Mojo, UK), which blazes visionary new trails (Lib?ration, FR), mesmerizing, from the first to the last second (WDR Kosmo, DE) and more fascinating and multifaceted, always becoming more headstrong and unmistakable (Les Inrocks, FR). Juana Molina is an Argentine actress, composer, songwriter, producer and performer, widely known in Argentina in the late '80s and mainly in the '90s with her television show Juana y sus hermanas ("Juana and her sisters"). Shortly after she left the television career to devote herself exclusively to music. Her unique style of playing and recording has taken her to the most important music festivals in the world in the last 30 years, such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Roskilde and Primavera Sound. She is frequently cited and praised by artists such as David Byrne, Chemical Brothers, St. Vincent, Feist, Devendra Banhart, and Phil Selway (Radiohead).

VIAN & MAALEM NAJIB SOUDANI, PEDRO Mogador LP
Pedro Vian and Maalem Najib Soudani's Mogador: a fusion of analog electronic music and traditional gnawa sounds. Mogador stands as a compelling exploration of the intersection between seemingly irreconcilable musical worlds; the experimental realm of analog electronic music and the deep-rooted tradition of Gnawa. This project is more than just a juxtaposition of styles; it's a meeting of minds where the ancient and the modern, the analog and the organic, are woven together into a seamless auditory dialogue. What truly sets Mogador apart is the way Pedro Vian's use of the EMS AKS Synthi and Buchla doesn't overpower the mix but instead forms a perfect synergy with Maalem Najib Soudani's qrebeb and guimbiri. Rather than competing, the analog pulses intertwine with the hypnotic lines of the traditional instruments, amplifying the trance-inducing qualities inherent in Gnawa music. Maalem's vocals, steeped in history and spirituality, float over layers of synths that feel both ethereal and tangible, crafting a soundscape that is as cinematic as it is visceral. This is not just a collision of cultures or a superficial fusion exercise. Mogador represents a genuine dialogue between two ways of understanding sound and space, where every element -- from the syncopated percussion to the serpentine modular waves -- contributes to a sonic landscape that is both haunting and profoundly resonant. Here, tradition isn't a museum piece, and analog electronics aren't a rootless futurism; instead, they transform each other, creating something greater than the sum of their parts.

LOS SAICOS Demolicion: The Complete Recordings LP
2025 restock. LP version with a 12-page full-color booklet with extensive notes and unseen photos. "With only six singles released between 1965 and 1966, and from an apparently remote place such as Lima, Peru, Los Saicos created a raw, wild and visceral sound, the Southern Hemisphere equivalent of the garage rock that was coming out of the U.S. Northwest at the same time. Theirs is the same DNA shared by The Sonics, The Cramps and Black Lips. This release compiles all their recordings and tells their amazing story. This snarling maelstrom of nihilism was cut in Lima when the rest of the world was wetting itself over The Beatles, direct links to both The Stooges and The Cramps here and several more equally-enthralling combos. The latter spawned several generations of individuals who would dig deep to previously (mostly) unheard seams of music and other forms of culture that have since become part of the mainstream fabric. Another strong case of the same kind of happenstance to my mind is that which preceded the much-vaunted 'punk' explosion of the '70s." --Lindsay Hutton

LADIES W.C. Ladies W.C. LP
Seminal and highly influential album in the history of Venezuelan rock. Ladies W.C. (1968) is innovative in many aspects: from its stunning psychedelic guitars, loaded with fuzz and wah-wah effects, to its repertoire -- made up of original songs -- or even the graphics featured on the cover of the album. As in the case of "Love Depression," this album has become one of the most sought-after and collectible recordings of Venezuelan rock. Munster's reissue includes remastered sound from the original tapes, 180g vinyl and liner notes. Adib founded Ladies W.C. with his friends Jose Maria Arria "Chema" (bass, vocals), Wolfgang Vivas (lead vocals), and Frank Rojas (drums). Their sound was so innovative that it was not conducive to getting many bookings and they barely managed to play a single concert. As a result, all the original line-up, except Adib, upped and left. Soon after, Stephen Scott and Mario and Jaime Seijas replaced them, seamlessly complementing Adib's playing and his growing interest in blues and psychedelic hard rock. The group's first and only album, released by the Venezuelan label Souvenir, was recorded at Continente Studios in just 10 days. Ricardo Landaeta acted as technician, while Adib and Stephen worked out all the structures and arrangements of the songs, as well as the lyrics. They were very intense recording sessions in which they spent full days locked inside the studio. Hector Fuenmayor is the only guest musician on the recording. All the songs are their own compositions, which was unusual on the Venezuelan scene, as groups' repertoires tended to be cover versions of international hits. The sleeve art, displaying a striking illustration instead of the classic covers showing a photo of the band, was also a novel ingredient in Venezuela, as was the distorted sound of the guitars which made great use of the wah-wah pedal, the extensive harmonica playing, and creative use of sound effects, all of which gave the album a unified conceptual feel. The band were only active for only a couple of years from 1968 to 1969.

EL ALAMO Malos Pensamientos LP
El ?lamo was a cult Peruvian psychedelic rock band that, as other groups in Lima such as Laghonia, Traffic Sound, and Telegraph Avenue did, sung in English aiming to reach the international market. Their only LP was released in 1971 and was recorded under the influence of Hendrix, Santana, and The Allman Brothers. Unavailable for almost two decades, Munster now reissues Malos Pensamientos in its full glory, with gatefold jacket, two bonus tracks taken from their rare 45, and an insert with liner notes. Released in December 1971, Malos Pensamientos is a psychedelia and Latin rock album on the Peruvian Decibel record label. The local rock market appealed to the label, in spite of Santana's expulsion that same month by the nationalist military dictatorship to appease radical university students who protested vociferously that rock was imperialist. The origins of El ?lamo can be found in Los Youngers, a group from Huacho, a city 140 km north of Lima, which was sponsored by the local priest to encourage younger parishioners to attend the go-go-style masses churches were celebrating across Peru by 1967. After recording a 45, the guitarist and bassist, Tino Pow Sang and Arturo Montenegro, moved to the Lima district of Maranga and revamped the band with Luis Iturry and Ricardo Allison from Los Shoes Makers joining the line-up. The average age of the group was 20 when they began laying down the instrumental track at a five-hour session at El Virrey studio. The album stand-out tracks include "Malos Pensamientos," a progressive rock song inspired by a Jimi Hendrix riff, accompanied by the atmospheric sounds of the organ; the rock ballad "Good Night," a must at parties with psychedelic lights and blacklights; "Candy," an abridged version of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" (Crosby, Stills & Nash); and the psychedelic mantra "Can You See Me."

BANGONE ENSEMBLE Live At The Ledge 1975 LP
"In the mid-'70s in Northern New Jersey, some friends and I formed an ensemble called Atomic Squawk, with which we used our extremely limited musical techniques to play the sorts of whacked-out sounds about which none of our fucking peers gave a rat's ass. 'Funny' talking blues, free form skronk, vaguely detourned covers of Beefheart and the Velvets -- these were our stocks in trade, and much happy time was whiled away in Randy Charles' basement drinking and making noise, simply because most all the live music being played in the area was dull as shit; useless unless your only goal was trying to get a sloppy blowjob in the parking lot of Mother's. Fifty miles south, things were pretty much the same for future members of Steel Tips, King of Siam, Strapping Fieldhands, Spy Gods and other future legends of the South Jersey sub-underground. But the active (and semi-active) participants in Bangone Ensemble had access to many more and better musicians down around Rutgers. This meant the Bangone Ensemble's sound was leagues beyond Atomic Squawk's. Still, we shared the same aesthetic impulse. In 1975, Jersey bands like the Laughing Dogs and Another Pretty Face were considered cutting edge. If you knew anything about anything, this notion was a goddamn joke. It sounds to me (factual details are shrouded in mystery) like Bangone Ensemble had up to a dozen players at times, with miles of instrumental width, and chops almost on a par with Ithaca's Zobo Fun Band. There's some seriously good playing going on here, but it's all being done in the name of weirdo-rock as the truest expression of non-idiotic teen rebellion. It's a great damn sound, mixing jazz, art-rock, 'new music' and primitivism in much the same way DC band the Muffins did during their earliest days. The sound is kind of like a child's guide to the avant garde -- from the Mothers to the Soft Machine to the Magic Band to the Arkestra and beyond, with a soup?on of sheer wise-assery stirred in for good measure. Bangone Ensemble's sound is just a great gust of freedom from a time and a place that was pretty fucking square. They unwittingly set a pace not really matched until some of the free-rock post-everything fusion units of the mid '90s. As Mick Farren might have said, 'Give the anarchists a cigarette!' They earned it." --Byron Coley

Psychedelic hard-rock and heavy blues with loud fuzzed-out guitars, keyboards and inventive studio production/effects by this band led by the great Neil Merryweather and featuring the Mama Lion musicians. Artie Ripp always allowed Neil to experiment/jam in the studio and to record any cool ideas and songs he may come up with. Thanks to that creative freedom, Heavy Cruiser was born during Mama Lion jamming sessions. The initial idea was to operate both bands simultaneously with Lynn taking the backseat for Heavy Cruiser but providing vocals and helping with songwriting. Powerful cover versions of rock classics like "C'mon Everybody" or "Louie Louie" show the band having lot of fun in the studio and there was also room for more experimental sounds like "Miracles Of Pure Device." VA Asking for The Truth (But Praying for a Lie) LP
Soul4Real returns to the south with a selection of eleven songs from Malaco, Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and Alarm Records. There is no doubt that in the 1970s and 1980s, Malaco in Mississippi and Muscle Shoals Sound in Alabama were both highly significant in defining the southern soul sound. Malaco's Studio had opened in 1967, while Muscle Shoals Sound Studio opened its doors for business in 1969, when four musicians left nearby Fame Studios to go it alone. Alarm Records, meanwhile, based in Shreveport, Louisiana, provides listeners with four of the tracks on this album. Independent producers and major record companies sent their artists south to record, taking advantage of both Malaco and Muscle Shoals Sound's talented array of musicians, writers and producers. Muscle Shoals Sound, in particular, started to receive artists from Atlantic Records from the get-go; R.B. Greaves, Baby Washington, Sam & Dave, and Solomon Burke led the way, along with Scotland's Lulu. The first release on their own record label was the timeless "It Hurts So Good" by Katie Love. Meanwhile, Stax (amongst others) sent some of their artists to record at both studios, and Malaco would also lease some of its own productions out to Atlantic. Alarm Records was a smaller set-up which also produced some wonderful records. This album opens with the only female singer featured -- Dorothy Moore. Her exquisite "Girl Overboard" has been justifiably popular on the soul scene for decades. The other ten tracks showcase an array of fine male singers, most of whom (Bobby Bland and King Floyd aside), sadly and perhaps unjustly, never really made the big time. It is the first showing on vinyl for three of the tracks here (previously having only been issued on CD), and Jimmy Jules' reading of "Having A Little Talk With Love" has never appeared anywhere before. As always, sit back and savor the music! Also featuring Ray Crumley, George Jackson, Chuck Brooks, Joe Wilson, Ted Taylor, Eddie Giles, and Reuben Bell.

VA Midnight In Tokyo Vol. 3 2LP
2025 repress; double LP version. Midnight In Tokyo is a compilation series that aims to be the perfect companion to nights in Tokyo, collecting tracks by Japanese artists that sound best at night. Vol. 2 (STUDIOMUL 006CD/LP, 2018) focused more on '80s jazz fusion, but the latest installment, Vol. 3, picks up where Vol. 1 (STUDIOMUL 001CD/LP, 2018) left off, bringing together forgotten soul, disco, and new wave gems. The compilation opens with Japanese rare groove classic "More Sexy," a provocative song by Yoko Hatanaka. "Kimi No Yume," from the album Yume No Yonbai (1984) by Masumi Hara, is one of the best Balearic acid folk songs to come from Japan. "Silhouette Call" is an electric bossanova track in the vein of Antena, from a rare album called Octopussy (1982) by Yuki Nakayamate, a singer-songwriter who worked with Motoharu Sano. "Theme Of High School Student" is a dubby cut featured in the Japanese film Kougen Ni Ressha Ga Hashitta (1984), written by Atsuo Fujimoto (Colored Music), one of the key artists in the recent wave of global interest in Japanese music. "Get To Paradise" is a stone-cold funk jam by Mari Kaneko, who was known as the Janis Joplin of Shimokitazawa. Following that is one of Japan's greatest new wave disco tracks, "Hannya", taken from Tomoko Aran's popular third album Fuyu-Kukan (1983) produced by Masatoshi Nishimura, who was part of Friends Of Earth with Haruomi Hosono. Masako Miyazaki, whose rendition of Seawind's "He Loves You" is a fan favorite, puts her own spin on Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," singing in her accent-heavy English, giving the song an undeniable character. "Watashi No Koukoku" is a certified disco-boogie classic by Junko Sakurada. The Brazilian-esque jazz fusion, "Sunshine Bright On Me" is by fusion group Kangaroo, who were often billed as "the japanese Shakatak". "Stranger's Night" is a synth-pop number by Maiko Okamoto, which bears a suspicious resemblance to Rah Band's "The Shadow Of Your Love". Electro-pop disco "Singing Lady", off the sole album by The Fad sounds like something Giorgio Moroder could've cooked up. "Magic Eyes" is a disco anthem recorded by Tetsuji Hayashi's disco project, The Eastern Gang. Following that is Japanese soul gem "Crazy Baby," found on a rare 7" entitled Minato No Soul by Rinda Yamamoto also composed and arranged by Tetsuji Hayashi. Closing out this collection of 14 Japanese rare groove goodies is "I'm In Love", a bittersweet mellow dance number by Tomoko Aran.

FIMIANI Disco Music Remixes 12"
"Disco Music" is probably one of Toy Tonics's catchiest tracks. Played by DJs like Palms Trax, A-Trak, Louie Vega, Folamour, and tons of other big names, this track could become an anthem for the new wave of disco that is invading the clubs. Fimiani, who made this track, was inspired by a rare old song from the 1970s, played all instruments himself with a group of friends (no samples). Now, it's time to bring on variations of the track, remixes by Young Pulse, the house maestro from Paris; Elado, the crazy edit king from Tel Aviv; Berlin's Delfonic, who one more time proves that he knows how to tune a soul song into a dance floor anthem; and Paul Older, the guy who just released his debut EP on Toy Tonics. These remixes are all dancefloor gold. Fimiani is on the roll.

LUDLOW, JOSH New Transition EP 12"
Here comes a first EP by Josh Ludlow for Toy Tonics. Mastermind of Make a Dance aka M.A.D. records. London's best kept secret (or not so secret anymore) of new underground dance weapons that are played by everybody who counts in the scene. Josh delivers a hot four -tracker that will move people on dance-floors worldwide. Combining 1990s filterhouse influences, 2000s indie dance and some of the edgy contemporary funk moods that are lighting up clubs these days. The post-techno generation likes it funky and Josh delivers. Fitting perfectly with the vibe of Toy Tonics, this EP will find a lot of friends. In fact, Josh knows how things work. Josh Ludlow has been steadily honing his craft over the past 15 years. Starting out releasing Drum & Bass under the Squash! moniker in the late 2000s whilst also playing drums in bands. The former gave way to live touring and it was only in 2020 when Josh resurfaced with some new electronic music. The impetus for releasing this new material was when Josh Ludlow and Ben Lewis formed their beloved project Make A Dance (which then went on to establish the imprint) M.A.D. Records during the pandemic. Since then, M.A.D have made a big impact on the underground scene, become regulars at places such as Fabric, Heidegluhen, Gottwood and gained DJ support of propel such as Laurent Garnier, Optimo, Palms Trax, and Peggy Gou and across BBC Radio1 and regularly cover show's on NTS for Long Running Host's Moxie and Apiento. This is just the beginning.

HOOD, ROBERT Internal Empire (30 Years Anniversary Edition) 2LP
This album holds an undeniable significance, serving as a cornerstone of both techno and Tresor's legacy. Its story is deeply entwined with that of the label, following Robert Hood's Waveform Transmission 2 (TRESOR 017LP) under his The Vision moniker, released just one year earlier and reissued on Tresor in 2023. On Internal Empire, Robert Hood perfected his signature sound already present on Waveform Transmission 2, marking a pivotal moment in techno's history. It elevates its maker as master, sharing an irrefutable singular magic, sounding as present and indispensable as when first created. To understand this work fully is to stand back and celebrate its impact. Originally released in 1994, the album marks a point of transition for Robert Hood moving on from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance. Robert Hood advanced, uncovering the power of true minimalism. Deep soul through a simplicity that showed how much could be done with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unmatched spirit of this sound, influencing generations to come. Says Hood: "I was faced with the challenge of following up on Minimal Nation. I cancelled all my tour dates for that summer, set up my studio in the living room and began to work on Internal Empire. My intention was to create something distinctively different. Looking out my living room window in Detroit watching people go by gave me a new perspective. It made me look at the world within myself. Years later I am still discovering." Red solid 2LP vinyl, full printed sleeve. Includes 60x60cm folded artwork poster, limited to 500 units. Includes download code.

KING COMBO, GERSON Gerson King Combo LP
Gerson King Combo's 1977 album is a masterpiece of Brazilian soul, emerged within the Black Rio movement, which was recorded with Uni?o Black as the backing band. It features the kind of full-on funky sound you'd only expect to hear from a rare few American groups of the time. Its ten songs mix political statements, which primarily address issues of racial pride, and dancefloor-oriented music. Remastered from the original tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl. This release is part of a new reissue series that will include many other outstanding Brazilian classics. The C?rtes brothers were born and raised in Madureira. Their careers in music stood away from samba carioca and followed different paths: Get?lio was one of Jovem Guarda's composers (author of hits such as "Negro Gato") while Gerson was involved in underground dance groups and would later (as Gerson King) become a leading figure in the Black Rio movement. This album was produced by Ronaldo Corr?a and features Pedrinho da Luz as artistic director. The album has achieved cult status over the years, becoming one of the most sought-after Brazilian funk records of all times. Ridiculously rare and expensive now, at the top of many collectors' wants lists, it's finally reissued here after years unavailable out of Brazil.

EVINHA Cartao Postal LP
Reissued here for the first time, Cart?o Postal is one of the best and most sought-after Brazilian funk-soul albums from the early '70s. It includes some outstanding up-tempo gems like Marcos and Paulo Sergio Valle's "Que bandeira," and the stellar "Esperar Pr? Ver," co-written by Evinha's brother Renato Corr?a who also happened to be a member of the Golden Boys. This is a classic Brazilian soul-funk title, right up there with all the greatest albums of the genre. Remastered from the original tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl. This release is part of a new reissue series that will include many other outstanding Brazilian classics. Cart?o Postal was originally released on Odeon Brazil in 1971, a few years after Evinha started her solo career. From 1961 to 1968 she was a member of Trio Esperan?a, alongside her brothers M?rio and Regina. In 1969 Evinha won first prize at the Festival Internacional da Can?ao Popular and her discography for Odeon took off. Cart?o Postal, her third solo album, comprises some outstanding gems. "S? Quero" emanates samba soul sounds while songs like "Por Mera Coincid?ncia" or "Rico Sem Dinheiro" resemble what Trio Esperan?a was doing at the time: vocal-driven groovy jams spiced with celestial strings arrangements and heavy-duty drums and basslines, which is not surprising since they both worked with the same producers and arrangers, as they were all Odeon artists. Ridiculously rare and expensive now, and at the top of many collectors' wants lists for decades, it's finally reissued here after years unavailable.

PARRA, VIOLETA Las Ultimas Composiciones De Violeta Parra LP
This is the best Chilean album of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine. It contains the latest compositions by Violeta Parra, including her global hit "Gracias a la vida." Vampisoul are now glad to present Las ?ltimas composiciones de Violeta Parra as originally released in 1966, with remastered sound from the tapes and the original artwork. 180g vinyl. It was recorded for RCA V?ctor at the end of 1966, despite the artist had signed a deal with EMI Odeon and released her previous albums on this label. After spending some time in Europe, Violeta Parra was back in Chile and wanted to record her most recent songs, filled with lyrics inspired by personal life's disappointments and social topics. The album contains great songs such as "Run Run se fue pa'l Norte," "Maldigo del alto cielo," "Rin del Angelito" and the global hit "Gracias a la vida." This is the very last album released while Violeta Parra was still alive as she would kill herself only four months later, in February 1967. In 1974 a new version of the album was released featuring string arrangements by Chilean composer Nino Garc?a and new artwork, a full-color illustration based on the black and white photo of the original album cover. This became the most popular version of the album available in decades. The ownership of the original master tapes has been the subject of judicial disputes since the late 1990s and until very recent times, which explains the difficulty in having access to the original work, as originally conceived, throughout this period.

BROOKLYN SOUNDS Libre -- Free LP
Brooklyn Sounds' legendary second album from 1972, full of heavy Nuyorican underground salsa dura propelled by raw trombones, off-kilter piano and in-your-face percussion. A perfect blend of barrio attitude and Caribbean swing, the album proves Brooklyn has sabor y salsa! Pressed on 180gram vinyl, Vampisoul's reissue includes liner notes featuring never-before seen photos. Libre -- Free is the now legendary second album by the short-lived Brooklyn Sounds and is arguably even better than their self-titled debut (VAMPI 297LP), displaying a more mature and practiced sound, no doubt honed by their experiences playing more gigs in support of their first record. Brooklyn Sounds were one of a handful of garage salsa bands from the independent scene that was gathering steam in the early 1970s in the New York boroughs, despite little support or exposure in the mainstream Latin music industry from more dominant labels like Fania, Mericana, Cotique and Alegre. As with many others, Brooklyn Sounds briefly fluoresced in a burst of creativity and defiance, yet flamed out shortly thereafter, dying like a flower among the ruins of burned-out apartment blocks in the barrios of its home city. Though the band only cut two LPs and a couple singles in their brief half-decade of existence, and never really broke out of the cuchifrito circuit in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, their music gradually spread far and wide, eventually becoming a sought-after global commodity by the late 1990s. In contrast to the first album Libre -- Free is up-tempo and ebullient, with fewer slow songs and more confident, creative arrangements, full of heavy Nuyorican underground salsa dura propelled by raw trombones, off-kilter piano and in-your-face percussion.

PEREZ Y SU ORQUESTA, RAY Pa' El 23/Muchacho Barrigon 7"
Salsa pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger Ray P?rez, acquired his nickname "Loco" by being a free, independent spirit, an innovator and iconoclast who was initially branded as "crazy" for the freshness and audacity of his sound. These two hot tracks were released in the early '70s and became instant dance floor fillers. First time 7" reissue of these salsa and guaguanc? gems. Amazingly, he is not that well known in the US, where he spent some time in the late 1960s and salsa was king during the 1970s. Yet he was quite popular in his home country from the beginning, especially amongst the working class of Caracas and Maracaibo, who adopted Cuban music played by New York Puerto Ricans as their own and called it "salsa" years before the term was employed by US labels like Fania as a marketing tool. P?rez is revered in Venezuela, as well as in Mexico and Colombia, and his storied career, which spans seven decades and thousands of concerts, has yielded more than 35 albums recorded by his various bands, including Los Dementes, Los Kenya, and Los Calvos, all of which are collector's items today. "Muchacho Barrig?n" crossed over beyond the Venezuelan salsa scene and a few versions of the tune were recorded by international artists. How cool and handy is to have both songs together on a DJ-friendly 45. First time 7" reissue.

HARLEM Cage LP
Veyl welcomes Harlem back to the label with a new eight-track LP titled Cage. The Stockholm-based duo of Martin Thomasson and Johan Skugge last appeared on the imprint with 2021's Bait, and the project now returns diving deeper in to their infectious cocktail of menacing electronics. Bringing with them a vast body of work, ranging from dub to minimal techno, with Harlem the pair fuse electro, no wave, post-punk, disco, proto-body, dub, hip-hop, and grime, creating a unique sound that cannot be categorized. Cage opens with "Shut Your Body," a muscular piece which drills into the surface, setting the stage for what's to come. Next up is "Fantasy Scan" a dance floor ready jam that picks up the pace and lures listeners into the pleasure dome. "Blow by Blow" brings a nihilistic energy to a fictional scenario that takes its cues from the past while remaining firmly in the now. "Kiss The Steel" continues on the slow burning path, dropping listeners into a dream like state, blurring the lines of reality and plunging them into a surrealist nightmare or reverie. "Dummy Up" comes roaring back, injecting a dose of electro and body that sounds like a soundtrack to your favorite cult gathering. With "Sleuth" comes the repetitive grind of a man at work, searching for the unknown, unlocking new mysteries along the way. Towards the finale, "Contact High" brings back a seductive dance, ready to movie bodies and stir emotions. Closing things out is "Wiggle Walker," returning listeners to a drifter's journey, a wanderer's melody that carries them to the end -- or is it just the beginning?

HUDSON, KEITH Playing It Cool & Playing It Right LP
2025 limited restock. Keith Hudson, who temporarily worked as a dentist in the ghettos of Kingston, emigrated to New York City in 1976 and died there prematurely in 1984. He is best known for his work as a producer for artists such as U-Roy, Big Youth, Ken Boothe, and Horace Andy and within short order Hudson brought his all-round talent to full fruition. In 1974, he produced two ground-breaking albums. Pick A Dub was one of the first official dub albums ever, and is still considered to be one of the greatest moments of Jamaican music. In addition, the unique Flesh Of My Skin, Blood Of My Blood became the first concept album in reggae history. Thematically dedicated entirely to black history, this masterpiece captivates with an atmosphere that is as dark as it is deeply spiritual, charged by Hudson's eccentric vocals. In 1981, he created the dub masterpiece Playing It Cool, Playing It Right which he produced with the help of Wackie's founder and mastermind Lloyd 'Bullywackie' Barnes. It remained the only collaboration between the two producers. Hudson decided to release it on his own label Joint International as he has done on his previous releases. The album continues Hudson's psycho-acoustic journey into the abyss of existence and has the power to overwhelm the listener with the beauty of artistic self-empowerment. "Too Much Formula" sings Hudson, whose voice occasionally recalls Sly Stone, "Darkest Night" answers an echoing background chorus found elsewhere on the track "California." Hudson's production techniques are fascinating on this album. There is often a kind of flashing-whip sound on the snare, which adds dynamics to the whole album. Rarely has a dub record sounded so electrifying, with radical spatial sound spreading out in all directions and rarely has it been as crystal clear, with warm bass and echophonic treatments as contained within these 30 minutes of music. 43 years after its first release and 20 years after its last re-release on the German-British label Basic Replay (Basic Channel/Honest Jon's), Playing It Cool, Playing It Right is now finally available again via Week-End Records, with a newly revised master and a rare interview with Lloyd 'Bullywackie' Barnes, talking about the making of this amazing album."It feels fresh and sounds amazing." --Lloyd Barnes Wackie's"Legendary, strange, compelling music." --Mark Ainley, Honest Jon's
