R.I.P. Peter Christopherson
The sad news has reached us that Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson has died in his sleep last night at the age of 55. Chris Carter twittered "Our dearest beautiful Sleazy left this mortal coil as he slept in peace last night. Words cannot express our grief." and the TG site simply displays the message "Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson 1955 - 2010".
Read some of the reactions to Sleazy's death from his friends and colleagues here.
Colour Sound Oblivion "Open Edition"
The "Open Edition" of the Coil live DVD-box set is now available for ordering at Threshold House store. This edition is unnumbered and omits the four costume fabric bags, but includes some extras, as outlined here and here.
Also available is a "Top Up Kit" with just the extras, for the completists that bought the original editions.
Colour Sound Oblivion
After being delayed for two months, partly because of recent unrest in Thailand (see the Threshold House site for some photo's), the Coil live DVD-box set 'Colour Sound Oblivion' is now shipping.
Unkle Sleazy TV
Sleazy has started an online tv-service, called Unkle Sleazy TV. Right now, there's just one video there, but more video podcasts will follow.
There's a new interview with Sleazy over at The Quietus, in which he talks about Colour Sound Oblivion, sexuality, the Coil-legacy and Trent Reznor, among other things.
Colour Sound Oblivion
The pre-order edition of 'Colour Sound Oblivion', Coil's official live video box set, is now available for ordering. This edition is not limited in number, but will be available for ordering for only four weeks, counting from today, March 9th (although it might be advisable not to wait until the last possible moment, as the original start date was March 8th). Follow the link above for further details, pictures and ordering.
A thank you from Danny Hyde
November last year, Danny Hyde auctioned off some rare Coil records and memorabilia. Part of the proceeds went to the Dark Star Woodland Fund in memory of John Balance, and a large part has paid for a new studio. Go here to see a thank you message from Danny to the people who bought from that auction.
Peter Christopherson has set up Sacred-Profane, a site showcasing his "unmusical works". The site can be found here.
